5 ENGINEERING WONDER (CB300) G Schofield -- Awkwardly away, on fence 3Ls off the speed in midfield until home straight, short of room until 150 M out when 2Ls down, quickened up very well once clear to lead final strides.
9 ATHLETIC GOLD (CC241) W Woods B Always well placed about 2Ls off pace and 2-wide in 4th or 5th through to home straight, led 100 M out, grabbed by winner final strides.
7 LIGHTNING BOLT (CA313) F Coetzee B1 Had to work quite hard to dispute lead or lead narrowly out 2-wide from 800 M to home straight, a neck to the good at the 200 M, headed 100 M out, no extra but hung on well for 3rd.
11 ROMANTIC SYMPHONY (BV150) A Delpech SR/TT In rear and 2-wide and 5Ls off pace at 800 M, 6Ls last and niggled along to stay in touch at 600 M and into straight, stayed on well up the fence to be nearest at the finish.
6 BEAUTY PLUS (CC213) D Whyte -- Unbalanced at jump, 3-wide without cover and worse than midfield until 500 M out, 5-wide into straight when 4Ls down in 8th, kept on quite well down centre of track without threatening.
1 EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT (CC267) G Mosse -- 2-wide and between 2Ls and 3Ls off the speed in midfield through to home straight, kept on steadily on the run-in but never likely to reach the frame.
4 SUGAR AND SWEET (CD089) M Kinane B Pressed on to dispute lead or race a close 2nd on fence from 800 M to home straight, still a neck 2nd but all out at 200 M, no extra final stages.
8 ABLE EAGLE (CB443) W M Lai -- Best away, led on fence early on before settling into the run of the race on fence about 1.5Ls off pace in 3rd until home straight, stayed on fairly well but always appeared held, checked 50 M out.
10 CENDAMY (CC047) C Williams V/TT1 Awkwardly away, one from rear about 4Ls or 5Ls off the pace on fence until home straight, very short of room thereafter and was not fully extended, nearest at the finish.
3 SIGHT CHAMPION (CC151) A Marcus B1 Always in 10th place and about 4Ls off pace and 2 or 3-wide until 500 M out, 5-wide into home straight, never troubled principals.
2 GRANDWAY SHUTTLE (CB424) D Dunn B Prominent in about 4th or 5th place racing 3-wide without cover until 400 M out, turned for home 4-wide, still only 2Ls down in 4th at the 200 M, weakened badly final stages.
12 SUPREME STAR (CA206) R Fradd H Always very deep on the track at least 3 or 4-wide without cover about 3Ls or 4Ls off pace in midfield or worse, 6-wide (widest of all) off home turn, soon faded out.
