2 6 MEDIC CORPS (CB200) F Coetzee TT 2-wide and 3Ls off pace in 4th at 1200 M, 3Ls down in 6th at 800 M, still 3Ls down but in 7th entering home straight, had little chance with winner but ran on quite well to take 2nd.
3 14 AMBITIOUS TYCOON (CB157) W M Lai -- 3-wide without cover 3Ls off pace in 5th at 1200 M, 2Ls down in 4th and still 3-wide at 800 M, 1L down in 3rd entering straight, brief lead at 300 M, soon headed, just hung on for a place.
4 7 MULTIWINNING (CC083) S Dye -- Held up in rear, 9Ls last at 900 M, 7Ls last and 2-wide entering straight, 4Ls down in 10th at 200 M, stayed on strongly but was hindered slightly inside final 50 M, nearest at finish.
5 3 HONOUR SUPREME (CB393) D Boeuf -- Had the run of the race in 3rd about 2Ls off the pace in 4th or 5th through to home straight, stayed on at the same pace along fence through final stages.
6 4 CARACOLER (CA365) A Delpech B-/SR- 2-wide and 7Ls off pace in 5th at 1000 M, 5Ls down in 9th at 800 M and roughly the same into home straight, kept on fairly without threatening.
7 10 SPARKLING STAR (CD055) S K Sit B Keen early on, 3-wide with cover when 5Ls off pace in 8th at 1000 M, under pressure when 3-wide and about 4Ls down in 9th entering straight, one-paced thereafter.
8 13 SUPER BLITZ (CB120) C Williams SR/V/TT Veered left from gates, towards rear about 6Ls off pace on fence down backstretch, 5Ls down off home turn, 4Ls down staying on at one pace when briefly held up 200 M out, no extra.
9 11 CHIU CHOW BROTHER (CA216) G Schofield -- Slowly away, keen early caught 4-wide without cover in midfield before looping field from 1000 M to lead 900 M out, 2-wide and still disputing lead into home straight, soon swamped.
10 2 CLASSIC MASTER (BV338) D Whyte B Soon led on fence, led or disputed lead through to home straight, headed 300 M out, soon beaten. (Lame.)
11 1 NORTHERN GOLD BALL (BV008) T Mundry -- Towards rear and 3-wide with cover about 6Ls off pace down backstretch, 4-wide and still about 6Ls down off final bend, kept on at the one pace down centre of track.
12 12 CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE (CD234) M Kinane -- Slowly away, raced freely early on when 7Ls off pace and one from rear down back straight, never threatened, always outpaced.
13 8 SUMMERLAND (CD074) A Marcus B- Very keen early on, raced 2 and 3-wide without cover within 1L or 2Ls off the pace in 2nd or 3rd from backstretch to homestretch, beaten 300 M out.
14 9 SUNSEEN (CB208) M Rodd -- Awkwardly away, on fence 4Ls off the pace in 6th at the 1000 M, 4Ls down in 8th entering straight, didn't find much under pressure and soon beaten.
