2 8 SALUT BEAUTE (CB189) O Doleuze B Broke well and raced in a prominent position 2-wide. Near the 700 M struck interference but soon recovered lost ground. Ran on well when asked 250 M out to fend off late lunge from 3rd placegetter to hold onto 2nd place.
3 6 MASTER YING (CB249) W M Lai B Jumped well and pushed along to race in better than midfield on rail. Switched out on straightening to obtain clear running. Responded well when asked 250 M out but just failed to overhaul the 2nd placegetter.
4 3 AMO (CB125) D Dunn -- Broke fairly but unable to muster early speed to race in midfield or worse on rail through to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 250 M out but just failed to match speed with 2nd and 3rd placegetters in the final stages.
5 4 AMBITION (CC079) D Whyte B1 Tardy start and ridden along to race in worse than midfield 2-wide. Under pressure at the 400 M mark and switched to the outside. Kept on fairly in straight but became one-paced over the concluding stages.
6 7 BRILLIANT EXPRESS (CB022) S Dye B-/TT- Jumped fairly from widest and soon eased to rear section closer to the rail. Switched to the widest from last on straightening to obtain clear running. Under pressure 250 M and made up good ground 200 M to be closest at finish.
7 5 VICTORY MARBLE (BV275) A Marcus -- Best out and ridden along to the lead on rail. Near the 600 M lost its rightful running and took hold. Only able to run on evenly in straight and slightly weaken over the concluding stages.
8 9 SUPER PRINCE (CD126) F Coetzee CP/TT Raced in midfield. 3-wide in the early stages. From the 800 M steadily edged forward from the outside to be in prominent position on straightening. Kept on one-paced in straight and further weakened in the final stages.
9 12 QUICK NEWS (CB178) R Fradd B Soon settled in a rearward position 2-wide through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 250 M out and stayed on same pace to the line.
10 11 MONEY STRONG (CC369) W Smith SR Began awkwardly and unable to muster early speed to race in rear section on rail through to straight. Only able to run on evenly to the line.
11 2 SAINTLY PARTNERS (BV292) T Mundry P-/B2 Ridden along to race in midfield 2-wide. Near the 700 M was slightly hampered and rounding the home turn hung out. Unable to make any impression in straight.
12 10 CENDAMY (CC047) C Williams V/TT- On jumping sat back and lost significant amount of ground to race at the tail. Made up some ground from the outside going up the Rock. No extra in straight and steadily dropped out inside final 200 M.
