2 8 FLORAL DANCER (CA259) D Whyte -- Best out from widest and ridden along to race in a forward position 3 wide. Near the 1200 M moved up to share lead and took charge on rail after the 800 M. Kept on well in straight but was unable to match speed with the winner.
3 6 ENORMOUS WAY (BV136) R Fradd -- Broke fairly and raced in worse than midfield 2 wide. Pushed along to make little headway at home turn and switched out on straightening to obtain running. Made up steady ground inside 250 M to grab 3rd near the line.
4 11 WAIALAE WIN (CB012) A Delpech B Began awkwardly and soon recovered to race in midfield 2 wide. Around the 700 M switched out and pushed along to go forward. Ran on fairly in straight but became one pace over the concluding stages.
5 3 MOUNTAIN KING (CD082) P H Lo TT On jumping was crowded for room and raced in midfield around 3 wide. At the 1000 M went forward to race in a prominent position 3 wide to straight. Only ran on evenly in straight and slightly weakened in the closing stages.
6 9 SALUZI (CB147) H W Lai B Was crowded for room shortly after the jump and raced in a rearward position 2 to 3 wide through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 350 M out and kept on same pace to the line.
7 7 DON SEBASTIAN (BS297) A Marcus P On jumping was crowded for room and raced in the rear section 2 wide. Ridden along and switched to the widest at home turn. Only kept on same pace in straight and ran past several beaten runners inside final 200 M.
8 12 SUNDAY DELIGHT (CC225) M Zahra -- Pushed along to race in a forward position 2 wide. Under pressure to hold position turning for home. No extra in straight and steadily faded inside final 250 M.
9 14 LOK WAH TREASURE (CA361) Y T Cheng -- Slowly away and raced at back on rail. Made little headway at home bend. Only able to run on evenly to the line.
10 1 STEP FORWARD (CB166) G Mosse SR Soon raced in better than midfield on rail for major part of the race hung out. Hard ridden to maintain position at home turn. Unable to make any impression in straight.
11 13 UNIVERSAL GLORY (BV162) M W Leung B Began well and pushed along to take lead on rail. Around the 800 M was headed and near the 600 M commenced to give ground. Faded quickly in straight.
12 10 TUSITALA (CC052) C Williams V Slow to begin and ridden along to race in better than midfield 2 wide. Dropped back to midfield down back straight and had trouble to hold position at home bend. Tailed out in straight. (Mild throat inflammation.)
13 2 MADE IN HONGKONG (CD139) C K Tong B/TT On jumping knuckled and soon recovered to race in midfield or worse out wide without cover. Commenced to give ground quickly from the 700 M and tailed out in straight. (Lost left front plate and luceration to left hind.)
14 5 BROWN BEAUTY (CC029) O Doleuze SR-/V2 Broke fairly and pushed along to race in a forward position in the early stages. Dropped to midfield when making the stable bend, gave ground quickly down back straight and was soon eased down.
