2 3 FLYING EAGLE (CD151) F Coetzee TT Quickly opened a clear lead. Took a sit off the pace at 1000 M and tracked leaders entering home straight. Shook off others 150 M out, dueled gamely with winner to the wire and just missed.
3 5 MULTI MILLIONS (CD207) D Whyte B Off fairly. Hurried to the lead after 1000 M and kept no more than 2Ls in front. Joined by others at 600 M and alternated for the lead before being headed by the top pair inside final 200 M.
4 1 HAPI HAPI (CD224) G Schofield -- Chased the pace early before settling 2 to 3Ls off the pace. Closed to within a length but was held in traffic at the 400 M. Late effort to make the frame.
5 9 UPPA HAND (CD221) R Fradd SR Off well and kept within 3Ls of the leader early stages. Inched up and dueled for the lead at 600 M. Remained in contention before being outbid in the final stages.
6 12 ISLAND SPIRIT (CD014) S Dye V Awkwardly away and raced near the back going into home straight. Put on a late bid in the straight.
7 8 TABBRIS (CB088) C Williams -- Jumped well and raced wide at midfield. Advanced 4-wide at the home turn for a share of the lead on straightening. Couldn't stay with the leaders in the final 200 M.
8 7 CAPITAL GAIN (CB344) A Delpech -- Off well and settled 2-wide at midfield until straightening. Stayed on same pace to line.
9 10 SHAXI RICHES (CD039) T Mundry -- Began fairly and eased back gradually to rear section. Made a brief dash on straightening but couldn't sustain effort final 200 M.
10 11 CHOICE AND CHANCE (CA381) P H Lo B Broke awkwardly and lost ground at the start. Recovered gradually and settled on fence in a rearward position from 800 M. Only ran past a pair of beaten runners in the straight.
11 6 WIN DANCER (CC357) J Holder -- Niggled along the rails at midfield until straightening. Failed to quicken in the straight.
12 2 PLEASURE PLEASURE (CD271) S K Sit -- Jumped awkwardly and raced 3-wide in a rearward position. Remained wide and trailed field rounding home turn. No response in the straight.
