2 13 SHABU SHABU (CB290) Y T Cheng -- Broke fairly and steadily settled in midfield or worse 2 to 3 wide with cover through to straight. Under pressure 400 M out and responded quite well to thread through the field to claim 2nd place in the final stages.
3 8 DR WELL (CD165) S Dye -- Jumped fairly and soon raced in a forward position on rail. Pushed along and switched to a 3 wide position turning for home. All out 350 M out and ran on fairly to grab 3rd place over the concluding stages.
4 14 STOIC (BT155) C Williams -- Soon raced in midfield or better on rail through to straight. Under pressure 300 M out and ran on fairly but was unable to fend off repeated challenge from 3rd placegetter to be overhauled near the line.
5 7 SPRINTER (CA067) Y Lerner B Began quite well and soon settled in midfield or better 3 wide with cover. Switched out on straightening to obtain clear running. Made up little ground inside final 200 M without threatening the placegetters.
6 5 FAT CHANCE (CC160) O Doleuze B Slowly away and pushed along to race in midfield or worse on rail through to straight. Kept on fairly when asked 400 M out but became one-pace over the concluding stages.
7 3 PACIFIC ALLIANCE (CC230) G Mosse B Tardy start and soon settled in worse than midfield towards the outside. Steadily eased back to rear section 3 wide after the 1200 M. Responded quite well when asked 350 M to be closest at finish.
8 12 MONZA KING (BV280) H W Lai B Unable to show early speed to race at the back on rail. Switched to the widest and made little headway at home turn. Made up little ground inside final 200 M.
9 10 ZERUBBABEL (CB418) R Fradd B/TT1 Steadily eased to the rear section around 2 wide. Steadily switched to the outside and made up little ground at the home turn. Only able to run on evenly to the line when asked 350 M out.

13 1 COUNTRY BOY (CB196) F Coetzee TT Soon raced in a forward position 3 wide without cover through to straight. Failed to quicken when asked 400 M out and steadily faded inside final 250 M.
14 11 CHATER LANE (CB339) A Delpech B/TT1 Broke fairly and raced in midfield or worse around 3 wide with cover. Pushed along to maintain position at home bend. Made no impression in straight.
