2 5 HANDBAG PREMIER (CD137) D Whyte -- Broke fairly and steadily settled in worse than midfield 2-wide. Pushed along at home turn and made little headway. All out 200 M out and made good impression but unable to match speed with winner in final stages.
3 3 FLYING EAGLE (CD151) F Coetzee TT Jumped fairly from wide draw and ridden along to race in a handy position 2-wide through to straight. Responded fairly when asked 250 M out but unable to fend off challenge from 1st pair in final stages and just held onto 3rd.
4 10 KING ERIE (CC323) R Fradd B1/H Shortly after the jump was checked away from heels and raced in worse than midfield on rail to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 250 M out but after the 200 M was crowded for room. Continued to run on fairly thereafter.
5 12 PRESENT TREASURE (CC077) C Williams TT- Began fairly from wide draw and steadily settled towards rear around 4 to 5-wide to straight. Worked home well inside final 200 M to be closest at finish. (See Racing Incidents.)
6 7 PRO JOY (CD160) O Doleuze SR Broke fairly and hard ridden to race in midfield on rail through to straight. Slightly held up for running in early part of straight, only able to run on evenly when clear running was obtained inside final 150 M.
7 4 SUPREME STAR (CA206) Y Lerner H Began well and steadily settled in midfield or worse 3-wide without cover. Found cover rounding the home turn. For some distance approaching the 200 M was held up, only kept on evenly when running was obtained inside final 200 M.
8 8 HONOURABLE (CB221) B Doyle -- Jumped well and ridden along to take lead on rail from the 900 M with around 1/2L to 1L advantage to straight. Kept on evenly when asked 250 M out, headed soon after the 200 M mark and further weakened in final stages.
9 2 ATHLETIC GOLD (CC241) W Woods B2 Began fairly and niggled along to race in midfield or worse 2 to 3-wide through to straight. Only able to run on evenly when asked 250 M out and weakened slightly over the concluding stages.
10 1 SALUT BEAUTE (CB189) H W Lai -- Hard ridden along in the early stages to race in midfield or better 3-wide without cover. Switched to the outside on straightening to obtain clear running. Unable to make any impression in straight. (Significant amount of mucus.)
11 6 NORTHERN POWER (CD186) W M Lai TT1 Shortly after the start was checked away from heels and made the 1st turn very awkwardly. Soon recovered to race in a handy position on rail to straight. No extra in straight and steadily gave ground.
12 11 ROYAL EXCHANGE (CD107) M Rodd SR/TT Broke well and pushed along to lead in the early stages. Eased back to race 1/2L off leader down back straight. Hung out badly making the home turn and tailed out in straight.
