5 8 WIN FOR ALL (CD002) B Prebble -- Settled on fence behind midfield. Lost ground but soon recovered after being crowded at 600 M. Steadily made up ground in the straight.
6 4 GALLANT KNIGHT (CC189) R Fradd V Settled 2-wide at midfield early stages. On fence and 2Ls behind the pace making home turn. Kept same pace to line.
7 10 BOLD FIGHTER (CC286) O Doleuze PC-/B2 Took a sit off the pace at 1000 M. Remained racing behind the leaders in a 2-wide position until home straight. Kept pace until fading out final 200 M.
8 1 ENGINEERING WONDER (CB300) H W Lai -- Slowly away and raced towards the rear. Made up ground in the straight despite running into traffic in the closing stages.
9 7 AWESOME EAGLE (CE077) O Chavez TT1 2Ls behind the leader and wide into the first turn. No worse than midfield but wide and without cover throughout. Never quickened on straightening.
10 11 SALUT BEAUTE (CB189) C Brown -- Just behind leaders early. Kept within 2Ls of the leader before gradually dropping back to midfield after 800 M. Remained towards midfield at the turn and had nothing left in the straight.
11 3 AMSTERDAM (CE140) M Rodd -- Off slowly and raced towards the rear until home straight. Never quickened in the closing stages.
12 12 ONE SHOT (CE212) S Dye -- Began fairly and gradually dropped back to the rear. Trailed field throughout and made no impression in the straight.
