4 6 AMO (CB125) G Schofield -- Jumped okay but restrained from wide gate to be rearward 2-wide 5L from lead eased. 3 to 4-wide on turn, ran on well but gave leaders to much start. Lost shoe.
5 1 TAKING THE LEAD (CB275) O Doleuze B- Jumped with them, taken back from awkward gate to be on fence 5L from lead, travelled well to turn, kept coming in straight, even effort.
6 5 PROGRESSING TIMES (CC231) S Dye TT1 Jumped well, ridden forward to be behind leader, relaxed well, had good run to turn, held ground until 200 M but condition gave out and weakened in finish.
7 8 NEW MILESTONE (CC351) C Munce B Jumped with them, settled 1-wide by 1 back, rolled forward to be 3-wide with leaders on straightening, failed to maintain effort in straight and lost ground.
8 4 KONRAD THE GREAT (CB059) C K Tong V Average to begin, settled 2nd last 2-wide, made run between runners in straight, made a little ground but never threatened winner.
9 11 SILVERBIRD (CB335) P H Lo CP/TT Jumped slowly settled 3rd last on rails 8Ls from lead, hampered when making run on turn, battled away in straight.
10 10 MANIFEST (CC048) C Brown B/TT Jumped with them from a wide gate, covered ground when ridden up to take forward position outside leader, had fair run to turn, dropped out when they sprinted.
11 9 HEALTHY (CE092) A Delpech -- Jumped with them, caught wide from poor draw, settled midfield 3-wide without cover 4Ls from lead, wide run took its toll and dropped out in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)
12 12 THE ONLY ONE (CB383) S K Sit V Began awkwardly, failed to stay in touch in early stages, 14Ls off lead under hard riding for most of race, beaten a long way.
