4 4 NOBLE CRUSADER (CD286) F Coetzee TT Average to begin, ridden up to take forward spot, raced just off speed 2 wide 3Ls from lead, checked badly at 700 M and lost ground, regained momentum over concluding stages to rally strongly.

6 9 KINGIFLY (CG020) R Fradd -- Slow to begin, ridden up to take up good position. Behind frontrunners on rails, travelled 3Ls off speed throughout angled 4 wide on turn and matched eventual placegetters to 200 M but knocked up.
7 7 SAINT THOMAS (CD200) M Rodd B/TT Fair to begin, taken back to 2nd last 7Ls from lead, raced 3 wide with cover throughout, made run widest on turn and finished race off well without threatening winner.
8 12 JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE (CD274) M W Leung B Away well, ridden up to cross outside lead, raced 3 wide without cover pressuring throughout, tackled at 200 M and couldn't go with them after wide run.
9 6 BEST LUCK (CC062) G Mosse CP/TT Average at start, raced midfield 2 wide, 5Ls from front on the fence from 500 M but only battled away behind the leading division.
10 11 HIP HIP HOORAY (CD258) W M Lai B Began awkwardly, settled last on rails 8Ls from leaders, followed paint throughout, showed no turn of foot in stretch but wasn't knocked around.
11 10 INVERNESS (CD108) K H Chan SR/TT Average to begin, ridden hard in early stages to lead shading inside horse (pace good), held front until 300 M but early pace told and weakened out of it quickly.
