2 6 MIGHTY HUGO (CB413) G Schofield -- Broke best, restrained to obtain trail 4th last 2 wide 6L off pace, had good run thereafter, came 4 wide on turn with a strong sprint and only just caught late.
3 4 WINNING KEVIN (CD051) S Dye -- Fair to begin, settled in last position on the rails, 8L off lead, spent nothing in run, came 2 wide on turn and made run between horses in straight, finished race of well without fully clear running.
4 5 FAMOUS DANCER (CD353) M Rodd B- Began awkwardly, ridden up to hold close position, midfield 2 wide between runners 4L from front, travelled fairly throughout had something to offer when checked in straight, game effort.
5 7 SOPRANO (CE177) G Mosse CP/TT1 Slowly into stride, settled 3 back on fence 4L from lead, had soft run in middle section, followed paint in straight and made good ground but unable to catch winner.
6 12 KIDDYLAND (CC063) W M Lai -- Away fairly allowed to stride forward when difficult to settle, trapped wide in midfield 3-4L from lead, had cover for rest of trip, eased 4 wide into straight and battled gamely but wide run took its toll.
7 9 CALIFORNIA BISHOP (CD351) C K Tong TT Away well, showed speed to take up prominent spot outside leader (pace genuine) travelled on bit thereafter, niggled along on turn, lead until 150 M but overhauled later.
8 3 RED PEPPER (CA196) A Delpech -- Slow to begin, ridden up to hold spot behind leader (squeezed passing 1300 M), had run of race from that point, came between horses in the straight and battled away over final 200 M.
9 10 DASHING CHAMPION (CC015) K H Chan SR Broke with them, held good position 1 out 1 back 3L from lead, raced between horses throughout, obtained split in straight but lacked turning of foot to figure in finish.
10 2 GOLDEN SUN (CD386) O Doleuze SR/XB/V1 Away with field, pushed forward but unable to slot in raced 3-wide around front runners without cover throughout, under pressure on turn wide run, took it's toll and weakened in straight.
11 1 SUCCESSIVE GAINS (CC158) D Whyte B Only fair to begin, settled rearward 4th last on rails, never travelled well and urged along on 3 occasions before turn, began to make some ground late before being badly checked.
