3 6 BEST GIFT (CD296) D Whyte TT Kept within 3Ls of the pace early stages. 7Ls back in 4th at 1200 M. 4-wide and 2 to 3Ls behind the leader turning in. Kept on well and disputed lead at 200 M. Unable to match winner's stride but stayed on for a minor placing.
4 12 SHAMDALA (CG625) C Soumillon SR Settled 2-wide behind midfield. Slightly held up at 200 M but made a late dash to make the frame.
5 1 WESTERNER (CG618) O Peslier SR/E Eased back to race in rear section and was 3-wide in back straight. Improved in a 5-wide position making home turn. Closed the race off only fairly.
6 5 REEFSCAPE (CG616) R Hughes -- In a forward position early stages. 5Ls off the pace in 3rd at 1200 M. Steadily improved and was 3-wide and 2 to 3Ls back on straightening. Took some time to quicken and ran on without threatening.
7 10 SAMANDO (CG626) E Legrix -- Settled towards the rear and trailed field back straight. Swung widest and near last to enter home straight. Steadily made up ground in the straight.
8 9 SWEET STREAM (CE616) T Gillet -- Settled towards the rear and was among last few to enter home straight. Held up in traffic for some distance near 200 M. Picked up speed when in the clear but ran into traffic again near finish and was unable to be ridden out.
9 4 CHERRY MIX (CG613) L Dettori TT Settled 2Ls behind the pace in 2nd until home straight. Engaged in a 3-way battle for the lead at 250 M but was swamped shortly after.
10 7 SATURN (CD154) R Fradd XB/H Set the pace most of the way and took a length's advantage into the straight. Swamped inside final 200 M.
11 2 NORSE DANCER (CG614) M Dwyer -- Settled on fence at midfield. Niggled along to stay in touch making home turn. Crept to within a length of the lead before being crowded at 200 M. Unable to recover thereafter.
12 3 WARRSAN (CD630) J Spencer -- No worse than midfield early stages. 7 to 8Ls back in 4th at 1200 M. Struggled to keep pace making home turn and weakened in the straight.
