4 2 AMBITIOUS TYCOON (CB157) W M Lai -- Average to begin, mustered speed to hold spot on fence 2Ls from lead, used nothing in run, came 2 wide on turn and tried hard in straight without threatening winner.
5 5 SEASONS TREASURE (CB310) R Fradd -- Away fairly, drifted back to worse than midfield on rails, raced 5Ls off pace thereafter had good run to turn, stuck to fence in straight and battled strongly without 100% clear running in straight.
6 3 GOLD FIELD (CC096) G Mosse B Crowded on jumping, took up rearward position 3rd last on rails 6 to 7Ls from lead, caught in traffic for most of straight and steadied at 100 M. Fair effort to make ground under circumstances.
7 4 MASTERY (CC176) C Munce TT Jumped away with field, ridden up to take up forward spot 3 wide without cover early, raced 3 wide throughout always working, challenged until 300 M but wide run took its toll in straight and weakened out of it.
8 11 DIAMOND ERA (CE040) C Brown SR/TT Away well, trapped wide from awkward draw, restrained to 2nd last 7Ls from pace, raced 2 wide between runners to turn, travelled well into straight, had field in front but made some ground late.

11 13 COME HO CHOI (CE082) Y T Cheng B Broke with field, showed good early speed to take up running, maintained length advantage but remained 2 wide, dictated terms until turn, tackled upon entering straight and found little from that point.
12 10 GREAT LEADER (CE032) F Coetzee B/TT Average to begin, hard ridden to muster speed, drove through to hold inside running at leaders heels, levelled up entering straight, showed no turn of foot when placed under pressure.
13 12 CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE (CD234) M W Leung H Broke with them, trapped wide from outside draw, 4 wide without cover throughout, had hard run to turn and consequently compounded in the straight.
