9 FORTUNE BOY (CC378) G Schofield -- Box run on fence from 1200 M about 2Ls off pace in 3rd, ideally placed throughout, switched out at top of home straight to lead 100 M out, held on.
3 SHANGHAI KING (CC188) F Coetzee TT About 9Ls last and 2-wide early, sent on 3-wide no cover at 700 M, 3-wide turning for home when about 5Ls down in 9th, stayed on well out wide for a place but too late to win.
12 SAMBUOYANT (CE172) M W Leung B2 4Ls back in 6th at 1100 M, much the same position until home turn, kept on fairly well for a place.
1 MIGHTY HUGO (CB413) D Whyte B1 3-wide no cover at 1100 M in 2nd place, 2-wide and 2Ls down in 2nd at 800 M, a neck back at home turn and all out to be a head down with 200 M to go, no extra and missed a place.
4 CARRIZO CREEK (CE132) C Munce B 2-wide and 2Ls down in 4th at 1100 M, under pressure rounding the turn, unable to dash home with principals final 100 M.
8 VICTORY START (CG216) W M Lai TT 3Ls down on fence in 5th at 1100 M, similarly placed taking home turn, ordinary finish and just a bit one-paced.
6 FRIENDSHIP (CE066) C W Wong -- Away well and crossed from wide gate to lead on fence 1300 M out, only a neck to the good into home straight, headed over 100 M out and swamped in closing stages.
10 WINNING SUNSHINE (CB291) H W Lai -- About 7Ls back in 10th at 1100 M, marginally closer but still in rear bunch tackling final bend, made some fair late ground but always held.
5 CAPITALAND (CE152) H K Yim -- 6Ls down in 8th at 1100 M, 5Ls back in 8th off final bend, one-paced.
7 PERFECT TIME (CG249) B Prebble -- Began slowest, soon 8Ls off speed in rear, not much closer on straightening, never dangerous.
2 SANBENITO (CC256) R Quinn CP-/B2/TT Slowest away, 7Ls down in 9th at 1000 M, under pressure to improve from the back when hitting the homestretch, didn't manage it.
11 SUPER BALL (CD064) D Dunn B 5Ls down in 7th at 1200 M, a little closer but still in 7th off home turn, had enough room on fence to quicken up if good enough before the gap closed 100 M out, not ridden out from then on.
