2 11 WINE WIN (CG018) A Delpech B Began in line, showed good dash to press on and challenge for lead, did some work before taking over at mid-point, raced 1L clear on circle, challenged on turning in, kicked strongly until 100 M but run ended late.
3 4 AMO (CB125) B Prebble -- Jumped fairly from middle of line, pushed along to hold midfield position, raced 2-wide 4Ls away, checked at 800 M, back in traffic on turn, closed off nicely from 200 M when clear running presented to snatch 3rd.
4 5 INVERNESS (CD108) K W Tsui SR/TT Amongst first few to jump, held prominent spot behind early leader, shuffled back to be 3Ls down on rails by mid-point (didn't settle), had easy time to turn, awkwardly placed into straight, switched to inside and finished off well.
5 6 INSPIRATION (CG111) F Coetzee -- Restrained from wide alley, proved difficult to settle, posted 3-wide 4Ls away with cover, checked and didn't handle bend at 500 M, 3Ls down on turning, swung wide and closed off well to be closest on line. Found too much trouble.
6 9 DILIGENT (CC285) D Whyte CP Standard break, lacked early pace, raced 4Ls away just off midfield on rails, had easy time not spending much to turn, inconvenienced turning in, stuck to rails and finished race off steadily without threatening.
7 2 DASHING CHAMPION (CC015) H W Lai SR Away in line, soon faded back from wide alley, raced 5Ls away near to last, had even run 2-wide throughout, eased wide on turn, made up good ground down outside from impossible spot on turn.
8 3 BULLDOZER (CG062) O Doleuze B Slow into stride and lost 4Ls, taken to rails settling near rear, raced 5Ls from them not using anything to turn, had field to beat at top of straight, made solid ground between horses to be nearest on line. (Rider questioned.)
9 12 RED STORM RISING (CE007) W M Lai B/TT1 Awkwardly away, rider unbalanced and lost considerable ground, raced at tail 6Ls from leaders, still last on rails turning in pushed along to make ground, finished off between horses until steadied late. Best work last 100 M.
10 10 HAPPY ELITE (CD306) K L Chui TT Began well, pressed on to hold prime position 1 out 1 back early, finished up 2-3Ls back 2-wide by mid-point, ideal run presented on turning, couldn't find an extra gear in straight and was one-paced to line.
11 7 KIMBERLEY MINES (CA367) S Dye -- Bounced out of gates, held early lead on rails, pressured and eventually handed up by mid-point, enjoyed easy trip behind leader thereafter, run presented at top of straight, couldn't find and gradually dropped out.
12 1 HELENE ELEGANCE (CB004) P H Lo PC-/B2/TT Average to begin, ridden up to take closer order, posted 3 and 4 wide without cover throughout, always working and closed to be 2Ls down on circle, under pressure on turning, weakened right out after hard run.
