9 TIMBER CITY (CC031) D Whyte B Jumped with rest, urged along to press forward and take up running, challenged throughout and set even tempo, ridden along and kicked strongly on turning in, held advantage in straight to secure strong win.
8 GOOD TRIO (CD029) C K Tong B Slowly away, ridden along to take closer order, raced further back than last start 2 wide 4Ls back in midfield, travelled well making ground on bend, had to switch out and ran on despite hanging. Solid effort giving too much start.
2 PLEASURE PLEASURE (CD271) K T Yeung B/TT Began nicely, showed good dash to challenge for early lead, took trail after 300 M, had run in behind leader to bend, lost touch at top of straight but stuck on gamely pegging back some ground late. No match for first two.
6 WIN FORTUNE (CB338) H W Lai B Broke in line, pressed on from wide alley, caught 3 wide without cover, applied pressure in mid-section to bend them in mid-section (still wide), kept on turning in but workload told and run ended at 200 M.
5 MAKE YOU JEALOUS (CE316) O Doleuze B Slow to begin, urged along to hold spot on rails 3Ls off lead, had easy time in middle stages, travelled well on bend, stuck to rails in straight, closed race off fairly at same speed without threatening.
3 SIMPLY THE BEST (CE014) K W Tsui CP Standard break, ridden up to assume position just off speed, had dream run 1 out 1 back in mid-section, 2Ls back on bend, angled wide in straight and briefly threatened before run ended at 200 M.
7 FORTUNE GOLD (CD343) D Nikolic -- Fast to jump, posted wide from outside alley, raced 3 to 4 wide at tail 5 to 6Ls back, well back on bend, angled wide on turning in, finished race off steadily down middle of track to be closest at finish. Trip too short.
12 NAUGHTY BOY (CE248) W M Lai B1 Broke with rest, ridden along to take up prominent spot outside leader, raced at leader's girth working with pressure applied by outside horse, under pressure on turning in, laboured in straight weakening out late.
10 NATURAL MODEL (CD191) M Nunes B/TT Even break, faded back from awkward alley, raced 4 wide worse than midfield 5Ls back, made ground working wide to bend, under pressure turning in, made little impression in straight plugging away to line.
11 A BETTER DRAGON (CC329) K L Chui V Standard to leave gates, couldn't keep touch early, raced 5 to 6Ls back on rails, lobbed along at tail to turn, kept to rails in straight but couldn't go up a gear and only passed tired runners in run to line.
4 JET RISE (CD346) Y T Cheng SB/H Slowly into stride, ridden along to keep in touch, raced 3 wide 4Ls away with cover, amongst horses covering ground in mid-section, had job to do on bend, struggled to accelerate in straight and plodded to line.
1 WONDERFUL BOY (CD192) F Coetzee V/TT Fast to begin, up there vying for early lead, trailed 3 wide 2Ls back with cover in mid-section, under pressure on bend, found nothing when asked and weakened right out in straight.
