3 GRAND CRU (CG265) B Prebble B Began with rest, pushed through to hold spot behind speed in 1 out 1 back role, had easy trip thereafter, angled 3 wide on turning, came with well timed run to hit lead at 200 M, used everything to fight off challengers for narrow win.
1 CHAMPION KING (CE219) D Whyte -- Jumped in line, lacked early speed but continued to press on from wide alley, raced 3 wide outside leader without cover, did plenty of work to bend, contested lead on turning, fought back hard when headed at 200 M to just miss.
8 CRYSTAL (CE209) G Mosse B Fast into stride, drove through to hold leaders back, had run of race 1L away throughout, had plenty to offer but held up in traffic until 200 M, switched out when clear and kept coming to fill placing late.
6 BYRON (CD275) H W Lai -- Jumped nicely but lacked early speed and faded back towards rear, raced 8Ls back in 2 wide position back with plenty to pass turning in, came to middle and closed hard making many lengths to be in frame.
11 ENCHANTED (CE065) A Delpech SR Promising start, continued to press on from a wide alley to take up running, dictated terms in front, pressured on bend, kicked hard holding advantage to 250 M, couldn't sprint but stuck to task holding own to line.
2 HE CAN TANGO (CG288) O Doleuze B Fair to break, allowed to settle just worse than midfield, raced 2 wide 5 to 6Ls away, came 3 wide with trail on circle, switched out in straight and steadily closed but just lacked the turn of foot of last time.
13 EXPEDITIOUS (CE136) C K Tong TT Average beginning, taken in behind from a wide gate, race 10Ls back 2 to 3 wide sharing rear, had plenty to do on turning, switched to middle and made up many lengths to be closest on line. Set too big a task.
10 BOOMING CITY (CE325) M Odendaal B Tardy into stride, settled amongst tailenders, raced on rails 10Ls away in mid-section, angled 2 wide on turning, closed off evenly between horses (shifted out at 250 M) without looking likely.
5 SUPER CEE JAY (CG289) D Nikolic -- Jumped with line, didn't go early toe and allowed to drop in to midfield on rails, raced 5 to 6Ls back on fence saving ground to bend, not a lot of room at 350 M, closed race off evenly steadily making ground to line.
7 TAIJI SPIRIT (CD185) K T Yeung V/TT Broke well, amongst them early before drifting back to be 3 to 4Ls away on rails, not asked in mid-section, stuck to fence but couldn't pick up when run presented and could only keep same pace to line.
14 LUCKY DRAGON (CD322) S Dye TT Amongst them from outset, unable to slot in and forced to race 3 wide 3Ls back, had cover and improved 4 wide on bend, threatened to 300 M but didn't let down and only battled last furlong.
9 SANBENITO (CC256) F Coetzee B-/CP2/TT Unable to muster from outset, settled rearward as usual, raced on rails 7Ls away in mid-section, used nothing to turn, made run between runners in straight but showed little dash and only plugged to line.
12 LE ROSSIGNOL (CG196) M Nunes CP Fast to leave gates, went on in search of lead, crossed to leaders girth but had more pressure from outside horse on bend, struggling and crossed turning in, didn't find and faded out of in straight.
4 KEY WINNER (CG157) K L Chui -- Began with rest, drifted back to midfield, raced 2 wide 5Ls from them, not asked in mid-section, under pressure on turning, failed to find extra gear and gradually faded out in straight.
