7 GOOD TRIO (CD029) D Whyte B Moderate to jump, settled down in midfield, raced 3 wide 4Ls back with cover, had good trail to bend, tracked 4 wide turning in, asserted authority passing 150 M and went on to record a comfortable win.
6 SHANGHAI DELIGHT (CC352) H K Yim B Began well, urged along from a wide alley to take closer order, posted 4 wide 2Ls back without cover, always working to the bend, challenged and took lead at 250 M, no match for winner but fought on solidly.
9 GLOBE RIVER (CD228) C K Tong B/H1/TT1 Fastest to break, showed more speed than usual to work across from widest to leaders girth, worked hard with speed on in run, came again when under pressure turning in and stuck on gamely last 200 M to hold 3rd.
1 TRIUMPHANT GLORY (CB368) W M Lai B Average break, drove up into midfield after tardy start, raced 2 wide 4Ls back with nice trail, tracked well on bend, behind runners without much room early in straight, finished off well when in clear to make frame.
12 WINNING CHAMP (CE233) C W Wong -- Began nicely, up challenging and held early lead, eventually took trail and had easy time behind leader, had something to offer when in traffic on turning, closed off only fairly when clear holding same spot to line.
11 NATURAL MODEL (CD191) K L Chui B/TT Jumped with rest, pressed on to settle not far away, raced 3 wide 1 to 2Ls back without cover, did work to bend, threatened with run at top of straight but couldn't sprint with them late and was one-paced to line.
3 STAR PRODIGY (CD294) F Coetzee V-/P2/TT Ordinary beginning, checked and lost position early, raced at rear on rails 5Ls from them, had field in front on turning, angled for run between horses and finished race off evenly without ever looking likely.
10 RAINBOW EXPRESS (CE144) E Saint-Martin -- Average beginning, soon towards rear and lost 3Ls when checked at 1000 M, raced 3 wide at tail 5Ls back thereafter, made 4 wide run on circle, well back turning in, made a little ground from well back but never really threatened.
5 TIMBER CITY (CC031) A Starke B Standard start, ridden along but failed to muster, raced 3 to 4Ls back on rails, had easy time but was pushed along on turning, kept to fence in straight but lacked usual effort in finish and plodded to line. (See Racing Incidents.)
4 WONDERFUL BOY (CD192) M Nunes V/TT Evenly away, faded back in midfield, checked at 800 M, raced 2 wide 5Ls away thereafter, well back with job to do turning in, finished race off at same pace just battling to line.
2 WYNDAM PLENTY (CD356) G Mosse CP-/TT Jumped nicely, pressed on from wide alley, worked hard to take up running, kept pace on with pressure from outside horses, 1L clear on turning, found little when tackled at 250 M and weakened out of it badly late.
8 SUNRISE LINING (CG030) Y T Cheng V-/P1/TT- Slow to begin, ridden hard to take up a more forward role, posted 5 wide without cover doing a power of work, right there but made bend awkwardly and began to lose touch, weakened noticeably in straight to be well beaten.
