11 TIGER PRAWN (CG279) F Coetzee -- Fastest into stride, showed plenty of pace but elected to take a trail behind leaders, had run of race in mid-section, 1L back on bend, took inside run and shot through to lead at 150 M, drew away for easy win in finish.
12 DILIGENT (CC285) M Nunes CP Well enough to begin, took up spot on rails in midfield, had easy time 3-4Ls off lead throughout, tracked nicely on turn, followed winner to inside turning in, kept to task but was no match for the winner late.
2 FLYING SPRINTER (CD021) H K Yim B Amongst first to leave gates, held lead without trouble, kept them rolling with pressure from outside horse, still under siege on turning and drifted to middle of track, stuck on well just missing 2nd late.
8 MAGIC CHARIOT (CH094) A Delpech -- Slow into stride, regathered and positioned in rearward division 6Ls away, raced greenly in middle stages, still well back on turning, kept to rails and made up plenty of ground in straight to make frame.
3 WHIPLASH (CG072) D Nikolic -- Began with them, didn't have early pace, settled off speed in midfield 4Ls away in 2-wide spot, not asked in mid-section, in pack on turning and made run to inside, kept on evenly to be closest at finish.
4 FAIR WIN (CE027) Y T Cheng -- Moderate start, taken straight to tail from widest alley, raced at tail 6-7Ls away in 2-wide position, always well back with job to do on bend, made run between horses and finished off nicely last 200 M doing best work late.
7 INVERNESS (CD108) W M Lai SR/TT Jumped nicely, didn't have early speed but pressed on to take up spot outside leader, did share of work with speed on and pressured by outside horse to bend, drifted wider but couldn't find in straight and only kept same pace to line.
6 LUCKY STRAVINSKY (CE195) S Dye B Out with line, showed enough dash to hold 1 out 1 back spot 2Ls back, raced ungenerously through middle stages, 3Ls back and struggling on turning, only finished at same speed holding ground to finish.
5 BULLDOZER (CG062) C W Wong B Jumped with rest, in midfield early but pressed on when posted wide, caught 3-wide without cover when challenging for closer spot, had hard run to turn, didn't have enough in tank to sprint again and simply battled away in straight.
1 ENGINEERING WONDER (CB300) H W Lai XB Slow to begin, rearward soon after start, raced 3-wide 5 to 6Ls away with cover, always well back covering ground to bend, came to outside in straight, made little impression but set impossible task.
9 AMO (CB125) E Saint-Martin -- Moderate to begin, raced in last few 2 and 3-wide 7Ls back, covered ground and still well back on circle, had field to beat on turning in, came widest but didn't have much chance to get closer and only battled away in finish.
10 LUCKY FRUIT (CG026) B Prebble B1 Standard break, positioned 3-wide with cover 3 to 4Ls back in middle stages, always doing some work in mid-section with speed on, under pressure on bend, failed to respond and produced only a one-paced effort in straight.
