3 7 LUCKY FRUIT (CG026) B Prebble B 3-back on fence in midfield no worse than 3Ls off the speed before swinging into home straight, ran on fairly to take 3rd in final strides.
4 11 ALWAYS WELCOME (CC183) D Whyte V-/TT- On fence 2Ls off pace in 3rd or 4th through first half, challenged for the lead at the 200 M, tightened for room on fence inside final 50 M and perhaps unlucky not to place.
5 12 ZAVONE (CG036) S Dye TT Missed the start and soon 5Ls off pace in rear, a little further back on fence turning for home, ran on strongly inside final 200 M, never nearer.
6 9 SALUT BEAUTE (CB189) K T Yeung TT In midfield with cover about 4Ls or 5Ls off the speed until home turn, stayed on only fairly without troubling those in the finish.
7 8 NAMJONG FIGHTERS (CG308) W M Lai -- Promising debut, about 4Ls off pace and worse than midfield early on, slipped back further on the circle and staying on when forced to edge inside 200 M out, ran on. (See Racing Incidents.)
8 1 FLYING GENERAL (CB236) K L Chui SR 8Ls last early on and not much closer turning for home, stayed on fairly well to be nearest at finish.
9 5 GLORY YEARS (CE023) G Mosse B Towards rear out wide but with cover about 4Ls or 5Ls off the speed until home straight, made only very minor late progress.
10 2 CLASSA FOR EVER (CD085) H W Lai V Slowly away, disputed early pace on fence, led by a neck at the 600 M and 1L clear taking home turn, grabbed by principals at the 200 M and weakened late.
11 10 INVERNESS (CD108) C W Wong SR-/B1/TT Disputed early pace out 3-wide no cover, took a pull on the circle and 2Ls down in 4th turning for home, tired at the 200 M and faded late. (Lame next day.)
12 6 MY SAY (CH093) D Nikolic SR1/TT1 Caught 4-wide no cover down the backstretch when within 2Ls of the speed, 4Ls down in midfield turning for home, faded gradually down centre of the straight.
