3 5 SYDNEY OWNER (CG195) K T Yeung XB/TT Moderate getaway but soon recovered to drive up into spot behind leader, raced on solid speed 1L back, close enough in 4th turning, run emerged and looked promising but just couldn't match first two.
4 1 MASTER POWER (CG318) B Prebble B Reasonable break, restrained to slot into midfield, raced 2 wide 4Ls back with ideal trail behind speed, angled 3 wide turning, threatened strongly at 250 M but run ended at 100 M (bumped late).
5 8 TOP SCORER (CE110) O Doleuze B- Restrained from an outside gate, finished up at rear 10Ls back on rails, aided by fast pace in front, still seeing field leaving bend, kept to inside and made plenty of ground between horses (held up 200 M) to be nearest on line.
6 7 KING OF FISH (CB105) D Nikolic B Began with field, couldn't match rest for speed and settled further back than usual 7Ls away on rails, helped by solid pace, angled 2 wide turning in, stuck on evenly in straight running usual honest race to be close up.
7 4 SUMMERVILLE POWER (CD398) H W Lai CP Out fairly, allowed to drift back and take sit behind midfield, relaxed well 7Ls back in two wide line, helped by tempo, came widest turning, only warmed up late and made good ground down outside to be closest on line.
8 12 SANBENITO (CC256) Y T Cheng CP/XB/TT Ordinary getaway, ridden up to position in rearward division 8Ls back on rails, advantaged by fast speed, saved ground on bend, in traffic for most of straight, only clear last 150 M and got no real crack.
9 10 OWNERS LAD (CG273) E Saint-Martin B/TT Standard break, ridden up to take up coveted 1 out 1 back spot 3Ls back, had nice trail behind speed, tracked well turning, struggled when they sprinted and just kept on at same pace to line.
10 6 SOLAR MIGHTY (CH124) G Mosse TT Began in line, unable to get to rails from a wide alley, covered ground 3 wide in midfield 5 to 6Ls back, had a good trail on circle, switched 4 wide on turning, made only moderate headway down outside in straight.
11 11 KIMBERLEY MINES (CA367) M W Leung -- First to hit ground, had plenty of dash to lead at a good tempo, raced at leaders girth on bend, 1/2L down turning, couldn't muster at 300 M and faded out from 250 M when workload took toll.
12 3 SUPER PEGASUS (CH141) K L Chui TT Away in line, restrained to slot in on rails in midfield 5Ls back, had easy time with speed on, niggled along turning in, found little when asked and just battled in run to line.
13 13 TREASURE COLT (CE308) C W Wong SR1/TT Speedy beginning, drove through to hold lead, kept them rolling at a solid speed, maintained margin 1/2L clear on turning, still travelled at 300 M but found little when they dashed again and dropped right out late.
14 14 TREASURE RAIDERS (CE049) W M Lai V Began with rest but taken hold of to sit in midfield 3 to 4 wide without cover, had a hard run doing plenty with pace on, 3Ls down on bend, soon a spent force and dropped out from 300 M to be well beaten.
