11 SUNNY POWER (CG203) Y T Cheng -- Standard jump, mustered speed to make up lost ground and race outside leader, raced 1/2L back travelling sweetly on bend, threw down challenge at 200 M and edged clear late for a solid win.
2 EGYPTIAN RA (CE002) E Saint-Martin -- Began nicely, rolled forward and took up running, kept tempo solid throughout, 1/2L clear on bend, kicked at 400 M and pinched a break but couldn't hold off lightweighted rival late. Strong effort given weight.
5 GREEN BIRDIE (CH245) S Dye -- Average jump as usual, raced at tail 10Ls off pace, helped by speed and made 3 wide run on circle, 4 wide into straight and still 8Ls back, made huge amount of ground to take 3rd. Big effort.
1 DOWN TOWN (CG054) C W Wong TT Away with them, showed speed but elected to take trail, had ideal trip behind leader, 2Ls down on turning, into clear at 250 M, closed off nicely to make frame.
4 PLANET RULER (CB359) G Mosse B Began well, restrained when unable to cross, posted 3 wide 4 to 5Ls back in midfield without cover, did share of work to bend, closed steadily in straight without really threatening.
10 FIRM OFFER (CE008) K L Chui SR Poor to break and assumed usual role near tail, raced 8Ls back on rails, helped by solid tempo, eased 2 wide at 600 M, checked turning and swung wide at 400 M, made up plenty of ground in stretch from impossible spot.
7 SAN LORENZO (CC092) K T Yeung XB1/TT2 Even jump, took a trailing position 4Ls back on rails in midfield, had a quiet time on circle, niggled on turning, stuck on evenly last 300 M holding ground in run to line.
9 LIBERAL'S KNIGHT (CE272) F Coetzee -- Out with rest, allowed to slide back from a wide alley, ended up 6 to 7Ls back on rails, helped by speed, kept to rails in straight and made steady progress before struggling last 200 M.
8 YELLOW DIAMOND (CD246) C K Tong B Fast into stride, couldn't cross and drifted back to midfield 5 to 6Ls back in running line, struggling on bend, slight check turning, couldn't go with them and battled in straight.
6 HELENE BRILLIANT (CH174) B Prebble TT Began well, took up a prime position 1 out 1 back, had a fair run 3Ls back, struggling to pick up at 600 M, lacked usual finishing burst and faded out in straight. (Sore morning after.)
3 ABLE PRINCE (CC348) M Nunes B/TT Lost considerable ground at start, always detached and well off 2nd last horse. Never a factor and pulled up quickly.
