9 WINNING REWARD (CE254) H W Lai B Well enough away, eased out of early pace battle, had a nice trip 3 to 4Ls back in 2 wide position, had plenty to offer on bend, let down nicely at 200 M to account for rivals easily scoring with something in hand.
1 EXCELLENT BOY (CE238) G Mosse -- Standard jump, drove up on fence to race 4Ls back in midfield, had an easy time in mid-section, angled 2 wide on circle, in amongst horses on straightening, did best work late when clear to snatch 2nd.
7 GREAT GUY (CH112) C K Tong TT Fair to begin, went on to cross to lead leaving first turn, backed off tempo after early work, dictated terms to bend, kicked strongly from 200 M but lacked pace to match winner, held on well for 3rd.
5 SOUNDS BEST (CE255) D Beadman TT No pace from outset and assumed usual role near rear, raced 6 to 7Ls back and not helped by slow pace, still well back to bend, made good headway turning without clear running and sprinted hard when clear to make frame.
6 GREAT ACHIEVEMENT (CD250) Z Purton TT Well enough to begin, did some work early to race outside the leader to avoid being caught wide, had an easy time, with average speed, close enough on turning, couldn't go with winner but kept on soundly all the same.
10 LHOJONG (CG281) D Whyte B/SR Ordinary jump, settled behind midfield 4Ls back in 2 wide line, not helped by tempo, switched 2 wide on circle, shifted out and made steady headway in straight without looking likely.
4 SILVER SUN (CE126) B Prebble -- Began well, assumed box seat 2 to 3Ls back on fence, overraced with slow tempo, saved ground on turning, lacked usual pickup and just battled away last 200 M.
12 DON FELIPE (CD273) W M Lai -- Amongst pace horses leaving gates, landed an ideal spot 1 to 2Ls back in 2 wide line, raced keenly with standard speed, niggled to challenge on bend, found little and just plugged to line.
2 GOODY (CD239) A Delpech -- No pace early and allowed to drift back to last, raced 8Ls back unsuited by tempo, in an impossible spot turning, closed race off well but set too great a task.
11 ANKH MORPORK (CH306) M W Leung XB Began in line, faded back to race beyond midfield, harmed when tempo steadied in mid-section, made a 3 wide run, passing rock, didn't go up a gear and just kept on at same speed.
8 HIGH INTELLIGENT (CD317) K Shea V/XB/TT Away with first few, took prime position on leaders back, had easy time with slow pace, right there turning in, found nothing and dropped out in straight.
3 GOOD NATURE (CE153) M Nunes -- Moderate jump, ended up just behind midfield 5 to 6Ls back on rails, not helped by speed, still well back to bend, found nothing in run to line.
