2 8 WIN PRACTITIONER (CG180) F Coetzee B Slow into stride, settled behind midfield 7Ls back in running line, helped by reasonable pace on, still back between horses turning, into clear at 300 M and flashed home last furlong to go down by narrow margin.
3 13 SINGING DINERS (CH063) D Whyte TT Away reasonably, slotted in nicely behind pace group 4 to 5Ls back in 2 wide line, had an ideal trip in mid-section, between horses on turning, gave leader a reasonable start but stuck to task closing off nicely for 3rd.
4 7 SOUTH BREEZE (CG241) E Saint-Martin -- No early pace and ended up more than 10Ls back at rear, pace played into hands in mid-section, same margin back making a 3 wide run on bend, came wider into straight and closed hard from impossible spot for 4th.
5 6 MAN IN THE MIRROR (CH058) A Delpech -- Didn't have much pace from gate, raced nearly 10Ls away in 2 wide line, pace helped in mid-section, switched 3 wide on bend, made gradual progress down middle in straight to be nearest on line.
6 2 CRUSADER OF GOLD (CE188) C Soumillon B Restrained from a wide gate to take usual role at rear, raced 11 to 12Ls back, suited by tempo in middle stages, saved ground on rails on bend, made ground along inside to 100 M but couldn't close further late.
7 1 JOY AND FUN (CH014) O Doleuze -- Checked early and ended up 5Ls back in midfield, enjoyed a quiet run on rails, spent little to bend, made some even progress when clear running presented at 300 M but lacked usual close peaking at 100 M.
8 9 FANTASTIC DANCER (CJ001) M Nunes B1 Fastest out, crossed to take up running, kept pace genuine carving out even sectionals, held a length on circle and still just in front turning, didn't have another dash from 300 M and was one paced in straight.
9 11 DASH AHEAD (CD199) H W Lai SR No pace as usual, ended up in rear division 9Ls off pace, stuck to fence and aided by pace in mid-section, still well back on turning, made some even progress but never in with a winning hope.
10 12 SAFETY FIRST (CG161) G Boss B/TT Fast into stride, came across to race 3Ls back in 1 out 1 back spot, had a reasonable trip on back of speed, close enough straightening but didn't let down.
11 10 MEDICO (CH075) D Beadman -- Standard jump, planted 3 wide in midfield with cover, raced 5 to 6Ls away doing share of work with pace on, eased 4 wide turning, closed to 200 M but had no extra thereafter and struggled late.
12 4 UPSIDE OF ANGER (CH317) Z Purton B1 Attempted to restrain but pulled way forward in midfield, did it hard way without cover 4Ls off leaders, suited 4 wide leaving bend, didn't have much to offer in straight and weakened out tamely.
13 14 FASHFIELD (CH307) C W Wong -- Began evenly and ridden along to take closer order, posted 3 wide before obtaining spot outside leader, raced 1L away doing a bit with even pace on, ridden along on bend, quickly faded to be beaten a long way.
14 3 FLYING TAMARI (CG151) G Mosse -- Moderately into stride, ended up 3Ls away on fence trailling a solid pace, niggled along on bend, didn't have much to offer and eased out by jockey. (See Racing Incidents.)
