8 SOLAR ENERGY (CJ105) S K Sit -- Standard jump, hard ridden to take closer order, ended up in prime position 1 out 1 back, suited by pace, advanced on turning in, took a narrow lead at 300 M and held on well despite racing greenly to score and survive protest.
11 THUNDER DANCING (CG250) H W Lai B Standard jump, worked forward wide early to race outside leader, applied pressure to leader thereafter, headed inside horse on bend, took over on turning, fought hard length of straight going down narrowly. (Protest 2nd vs 1st.)
10 VIKING TOR (CE207) M W Leung CP Fairly away, posted 3 wide without cover from an awkward alley, always working 4 to 5Ls back, improved gradually on circle, produced a strong finish despite pace bias making many lengths for 3rd.
9 MAGIC SWEEP (CH299) D Whyte B Well enough to begin, pressed on wide early and eventually took spot in 2 wide line before bend, had a good trip 2 to 3Ls back, tracked well turning, continued to close off nicely to be right there in finish.
12 STAR OF FAME (CH043) R Fradd XB/TT No early pace, raced 5Ls back in 2 wide line behind midfield, travelled well despite pace against, improved on turning in, let down with a late finish making good ground to be on heels of placegetters.
4 REALLY HAPPY (CJ165) K L Chui TT Out in line, assumed a spot on fence 4 to 5Ls back, used little in run however not helped by steady pace, back in behind horses turning, shifted on two occasions sourcing a clear run, hit line nicely late.
13 POS TRUMPS (CH295) Z Purton -- Lacked pace from jump and allowed to drift back behind midfield 5 to 6Ls back, unsuited by pace, still well back turning, closed off fairly without looking a threat holding ground in run to line.
6 LUMINOUS (CE300) F Coetzee -- Began fairly, took a midfield spot 4Ls back in running line, had a reasonable run in mid-section, eased 3 wide on turning, lacked required extra gear and simply held position last 300 M.
14 ENGINEERING WONDER (CB300) M Nunes XB No Comments on Running information for this horse.
5 HOLD HANDS (CH116) M Du Plessis B Tardy to begin, ended up 7Ls back on rails, not helped by steady tempo at top end, still well back on turning in, made fair progress from an impossible spot to be closest on line.
2 MERIDIAN PRIDE (CH057) G Mosse B Moderate beginning and failed to muster, ended up 5 to 6Ls back on rails, had easy time but pace not helpful, back in behind horses turning, closed fairly and steadied at 200 M but never going to be a factor regardless.
7 ENCORE WIN (CH251) G Boss B/TT Fast out and led field, pressured throughout by outside horse, not overly taxed with fair tempo, again challenged on turning in, there to 300 M but quickly tired and didn't see out trip late.
1 NOBLE HEART (CC355) K T Yeung B/TT Slow into stride, raced at rear 7 to 8Ls away in 2 wide line, disadvantaged by tempo, still well back on circle making 3 wide run, didn't let down and turned in a disappointing effort over closing stages.
3 GALBRAITH (CG022) E Saint-Martin CP- Well enough to jump, positioned nicely behind leader 2Ls back, had an ideal run with steady pace, pushed along to make a challenge turning, failed to respond and dropped right out late.
