3 8 MASTER GUNNER (CJ142) D Beadman -- Well enough away, guided to a position better than midfield, travelled 2-wide and 4Ls back, crept closer making the final turn, hit the front 250 M out, battled on inside 100 M but was caught over the final stages.
4 1 HOLD HANDS (CH116) C K Tong -- Restrained on jumping and settled towards the rear about 8Ls off the pace, moved up on the outside passing 500 M, came home fairly strongly despite hanging in under pressure, not beaten far.

8 6 FLUKE (CJ061) H W Lai -- Away in line, taken forward to track leaders in a handy position, kept to inside on straightening, made some progress without threatening.
9 7 VIKING TOR (CE207) Y T Cheng CP Began awkwardly, raced tight towards the 1st turn, assumed a spot behind midfield about 6Ls back, still had plenty to do turning in, held up near 200 M and ran on fairly afterwards.
10 4 BULLISH WIN (CH197) E Saint-Martin B-/CP2/TT Average jump, gradually moved up to be prominent behind leaders, had a smooth run to turn, found little under pressure 350 M out, weakened inside 150 M.
11 2 MELLIFLUOUS (CH212) B Doyle CP-/XB/V2/ Began with them, travelled in a 3-wide position 5Ls back, unable to obtain cover in middle stages, pressed on passing 400 M, struggled to pick up and gave ground from 250 M.
12 12 WINBO (CJ085) M W Leung -- Slightly slow out, unable to cross and was forced wide in the 1st turn, move forward and crossed into lead entering back straight, headed near 300 M and gradually faded towards the line.
