2 4 VICTORY MASCOT (CJ243) A Gryder TT 3-wide and 7Ls back towards the rear, made the home turn widest of all, ran on well but hung in under pressure and lost out in a close finish.
3 1 GRAND GENERAL (CJ113) K C Leung CP Behind mid-division one off the fence, hampered by the slow pace and difficult to settle, shifted wider approaching home straight for a clear run, picked up nicely from off the pace to finish a close 3rd.
4 12 DANEPRINT (CC221) S K Sit B 4Ls back in midfield, inconvenienced by the slow tempo, into clear 350 M, ran on steadily to take 4th.
5 5 COVER BOY (CK021) T H So -- Slow to begin, caught 3-wide in midfield for most of the trip, plugged on for 5th but lacked a change of pace.
6 10 BRAVO HORSE (CH312) B Doyle B/SR Behind midfield 5Ls back early, commenced his move round the outside of field 700 M from home, hit the front early in straight but did not last out the final 100 M and was swamped close home.
7 11 ALL FOR ONE (CH180) J Winks V-/CP1 Handily placed in midfield, travelled well to straight but ran on one-paced. (Subsequently retired.)
8 7 RAINBOW STAR (CJ275) Z Purton B/TT1 Always prominent chasing the pace in 3rd, looked threatening early in straight but turned flat inside 250 M and faded away.
9 3 MYTHIC STEED (CD208) M Du Plessis -- In midfield early but was steadied near 800 M and shuffled back, 3-wide turning in, ran on only fairly and found no extra close home.
10 2 SO PRETTY SO SMART (CK063) C K Tong -- Gradually moved forward, crossed to the lead passing 1400 M but dropped back to midfield approaching the home turn, had his chance but never really got going.
11 14 SUPER POWER (CH117) M Chadwick CP2/TT Towards the rear, hard ridden 400 M out but gave very limited response. (Subsequently retired.)
12 9 EMBRACES (CH175) W Pike B Placed towards the rear 7Ls back, not suited by the slow tempo and was difficult to settle in middle stages, had plenty to do turning in but couldn't pick up. Well beaten.
13 13 CALL ME CULLEN (CH113) M W Leung B/TT Behind leaders early but unsuited by the slow pace and moved to the front rank passing 1000 M, struggled to keep up on straightening, weakened inside 300 M. (Subsequently retired.)
14 6 ALL PROFIT (CK068) Y T Cheng B/TT1 Went forward from a wide barrier, crossed to the lead from 1100 M, under pressure 450 M out, soon faded.
