9 DREAM HORSE (CG029) T H So H/TT Quickly into stride and grabbed the lead as expected, went a decent gallop up front and kicked 4Ls clear passing 400 M, kept on strongly and never looked like stopping under the guidance of a 10 lb claimer.
8 SOVIET PEARL (CK187) K C Leung -- 5Ls back on the fence in mid-division and travelled smoothly throughout, although not looking like to catch the runaway winner, he showed good acceleration and battling qualities inside 400 M to finish best of the rest.
3 ELITE SIXTY-SIX (CK085) D Beadman -- Drawn widest but slotted into a 2-wide position behind midfield just before the turn, switched out for a run passing 500 M, ran on well but was never able to catch the runaway winner.
2 DR POSSIBLE (CJ110) W C Marwing TT Switched off to a rearward position as expected, urged along passing 600 M and was taken wide on straightening, took time to get going and did his best work towards the line.
12 STAR OF FAME (CH043) J Lloyd TT Jumped well but was allowed to drift back, settled behind midfield 6Ls off the pace, waited with until 400 M but was held up momentarily approaching 200 M, ran on OK once into clear.
13 WIN A DOZEN (CH262) M W Leung TT Hard ridden to a 3-wide spot in mid-division after a sluggish start, raced keen over the home turn, couldn't find a change of gear as the race heated up and was merely plodding on.
4 VALUE CHOICE (CG213) J Winks B Ordinary jump, obtained a 2-wide position in midfield, had 6Ls to make up on the runaway leader inside 400 M but unable to switch another gear and remained one pace in the run to the line.
7 NOBLE CHOICE (CK186) M Du Plessis XB Broke well from the inside gate and was well placed on the fence 3Ls behind leader, kept on fairly but was gradually outpaced over the final 200 M.
1 FERRO BEAU (CG244) C K Tong -- Taken back on jumping, kept wide and unable to obtain cover throughout the trip, inclined to hang in final 300 M and was a difficult ride.
11 GOUF (CJ227) C W Wong B/TT Began slowly, ended up towards the rear 8 to 9Ls off the leader, in an unpromising spot turning in and had to shift wide for a run but was steadied near 300 M and close home. (Not fully tested.)
5 VAUGIRARD (CK347) W Pike -- Taken across behind runners from a wide draw, travelled in the rear throughout and ran very green under pressure in straight. No impression.
6 COUNTRY MAGIC (CH069) M Chadwick TT Checked at 1000 M and shuffled back to a position behind midfield, attempted a run down the inside passing 400 M but didn't pick up and never got involved.
10 OUR PEGASUS (CK093) B Doyle -- Chased the pace in a handy position just behind leaders but found nothing off the bridle on straightening. Another disappointing effort.
14 ACE OF SPADES (CK265) W M Lai -- Tracked leader prominently in 2nd, inclined to hang in for the major part of the race, struggled to keep up passing 300 M, dropped out rapidly.
