7 6 PERFECT STYLE (CJ329) B Prebble -- 2-deep in mid-division racing keenly, had to be shifted out near 250 M for a clear path but found less than expected in the run to the line.
8 2 DOUBLE LUCK (CH239) K C Leung -- Gradually dropped back to a 3-wide position in midfield after a good start, came to challenge inside 300 M but didn't find a change of pace.
9 9 SOLAR MIGHTY (CH124) Z Purton B/TT Eased back on jumping, held up in last 5Ls behind leader, switched out for a run passing 400 M, couldn't pick up and kept on same pace to the line.
10 12 NORMAN INVADER (CJ231) M Chadwick TT Away quickly, alongside leader, didn't handle the turn and lost touch from 450 M, found nothing under pressure, soon running on empty.
11 4 ISLAND SPEED (CG202) C K Tong B/TT First to jump but not fast enough to cross, ran wide for most of the journey, struggled to hold his position passing 500 M, no response coming off the bend, eased.
12 10 KUNG FU (CE289) C W Wong P/H Unable to lead and was pushed very wide throughout, already under pressure making the final turn, soon beaten on straightening.
