2 12 SAPELLI (CK191) J Lloyd -- Took up ideal spot 1 out 1 back, 3Ls or so away on bend, chased leader from 350 M and went with eventual winner but just outlasted final 100 M.
3 10 NAPA II (CJ248) O Doleuze -- Drifted back from an awkward alley, well back 9 to 10Ls from leaders, still plenty to do on bend, made many lengths in straight.
4 11 BRAVE SPIRIT (CJ258) M Chadwick B/TT Rolled forward to take up running, 1 to 2Ls clear throughout at a decent tempo, kicked on turning, 3L advantage at 300 M, caught at 150 M, stayed on OK thereafter.
5 5 TOY STORY (CJ217) W C Marwing B Even jump, settled 3 to 4Ls back on fence, had a soft trip to bend, into clear turning, didn't dash from 300 M and just plugged away to line.
6 13 SILVER BLAZE (CJ149) S K Sit H Out with them, struck heels as field settled, forced to race 3 wide without cover, did share of work to bend, didn't find much and weakened out. (See Racing Incidents.)
7 2 JOHNSON (CJ305) K C Leung B Went forward to settle on speed, raced first without cover 1 to 2Ls back, did a bit of work tracking leader, couldn't turn up a notch from bend and just battled in straight.
8 8 FLYING CHINA (CK266) D Whyte B Even jump, assumed a position 3 wide with trail 6Ls or so back, covered ground throughout, didn't let down in straight despite steadied 300 M.
9 3 ARION OF CHIU TON (CK136) G Cheyne -- Average jump, faded back to race 3 to 4 wide behind midfield 6 to 7Ls back, had cover but used some throughout, no impression on straightening.
10 4 SOUTH BREEZE (CG241) Z Purton TT OK to break, raced in midfield 4 to 5Ls back, even run throughout, didn't find when asked and faded right out.
11 6 FIRST BEAT (CK127) G Mosse TT Slotted in first behind leader, had good run to bend, 3Ls away chasing leader on turn, stopped inside 300 M, bled 2nd time.
12 9 THE WITCH'S BROOM (CH231) B Doyle B Standard jump, ended up 3 wide at rear 8Ls or so, did work wide throughout despite cover, struggling turning, faded.
13 1 AMPLE GAINS (CE021) C W Wong B/TT Awkwardly away and soon at rear, mustered to be 6 to 7Ls down in mid-section ridden along bend, gradually weakened.
