2 7 DANESOUTH (CL001) W C Marwing PC-/H/P2/TT Enjoyed the run of the race box seating. Punched through to lead after the 250m but was collard over the final 100m.
3 9 ROCKET AND GOLD (CH015) B Prebble B/TT Settled just back from midfield, 2 wide with cover. Rounded the home turn 6 deep and maintained a strong gallop all the way down the running.
4 6 GREEN GLORY (CJ177) J Lloyd B/TT Rated behind midfield the fence. Ran on soundly over the final stages to land in the frame.
5 11 NOBLE TWINS (CH257) W M Lai B Parked 3 back, 2 deep with cover. Straightened 5 wide but didn’t find much extra in the run home.
6 3 SPEED RACER (CK207) C K Tong CP Camped close to midfield 2 wide with cover. Loomed up approaching the 200m, but plugged away one paced thereafter.
7 2 RAIN OF THUNDER (CJ352) Z Purton BO Made his run third from the rear, 1 off with cover. Made reasonable late ground.
8 14 KING GALILEO (CL028) M Chadwick -- Was left racing 3 wide without cover after the 1200m, whilst travelling slightly worse than midfield. Came wide in the straight but was one paced over the final stages.
9 8 FOREST FOUNTAIN (CJ047) T Angland B/TT Copped a bit of interference early settling at the tail of the field 1 off with cover. Weaved a passage through towards the inside and made modest ground.
10 5 EPEE DE HUA (CJ307) Y T Cheng B Strolled forward from the outside barrier to eventually cross and race as joint leader, 1 off after the 900m. Was swamped over the final 100m.
11 1 SHAM SHUI PO (CL182) C Y Ho SR/V Settled 1 out 1 back. Had every chance but was a beaten horse prior to the furlong.
12 4 CHEERFUL DOUBLE (CK396) D Beadman B Settled with the backmakers along the fence, but never really travelled and failed to close off. (see incident report)
13 12 LIGHTNING MOUNT (CH082) G Cheyne B Settled as equal leader along the paint. Gave in very timidly early in the straight.
14 13 FIERCE (CK339) H W Lai V/XB Travelled at the rear of the field 3 wide with cover after being taken back from a wide gate. Struggled in the home straight.
