2 GALLANT TRIUMPH (P173) T Angland B/TT Took a midfield role, 3-4ls back in running line, no excuses to bend, gained a run at 300m point and let down strongly, gained advantage and won a shade cozily.
9 FLYING CHAPARRAL (M245) C K Tong SR Enjoyed run of race on leaders back, steady sections to suit to turn, run presented inside 300m and finished off soundly to take placing.
12 REWARDING HERO (N376) K C Leung H/XB Settled in midfield 3 wide with cover, only 3ls back in a bunched field on circled, set out after leaders at 300m and hit lead at 200m, peaked inside 100m but held on for 3rd.
14 SUPREME WINNER (M014) R Fourie B-/TT- Tardy getaway, taken back to rear on rails, 6ls back with steady sections, took inside runs turning and held up to 250m, closed soundly late when clear to make frame.
11 ELECTRONIC FORTUNE (N097) H W Lai B Forced into a tough journey 3 wide without cover, only 2ls back with standard sections, improved and in mix turning, kept on creditably in straight to be not far off them.
3 LOMBARDI (CK406) C Y Ho B Showed usual pace to take up running, set even sectionals in front, headed soon after straightening, didn't look likely from that point but stayed on evenly all the same.
5 SUPER CAGA (CK054) O Doleuze B Had an ideal run in 1 out 1 back spot, steady pace suited to bend, in traffic turning but just one paced when clear running presented and just battle don at one speed.
1 JIMSON THE BEST (CL016) C W Wong -- Restrained to settle back with last few, 6-7ls from leaders, even pace not ideal, well back turning, passed a few in straight but never likely.
4 THE UNTOUCHABLELAD (CK398) T H So B Taken back from a wide gate, raced 3 wide at rear 7ls back, set a task still last and coming wide bend, made some moderate headway late.
7 COLLAGEN (P302) G Mosse TT1 Unable to slot in, ended up 3 and 4 wide for duration without cover 4ls back, did work but was only 1l down turning, not much extra final 300m after hard run.
8 GRAND ELITE (M393) Z Purton -- Raced 3-4ls back on rails, all favours in run, held up turning to 250m, didn't really get into race and only had a moderate response when clear (see racing incidents).
10 KING DERBY (P225) M L Yeung -- Pressed on to race outside leader, even run throughout, struggling soon after turning and gave in cheaply and dropped right off.
6 MASTER SOMMELIER (P253) D Whyte P1 Ordinarily away but mustered and soon overaced hung out badly when over-racing on top turn, continued to race intractably in mid-section, came wider bend but didn't finish off (lame).
13 PRECISION ERA (P006) W M Lai CP/TT Caught 3 and 4 wide from a tricky gate, forced wider by unruly horse, 6ls back and kept improving even wider on bend, no finish in straight given workload.
