4 1 KING OF HEARTS (C145) M Chadwick B/TT Travelled in rear despite ridden early, ran on steadily inside the final 250 metres, did best work late.
5 12 MONKEY JEWELLERY (B378) K Teetan -- Moderate start, settled in 4th just about 3L off the pace, gained slightly closer on the rail rounding home bend, baulked early in straight, ran home one-paced.
6 4 NAMJONG SINGS (C480) G van Niekerk B1/TT- Improved steadily from a moderate start before settling just outside the leader, shared the pace briefly after straightening but soon found no extra.
7 6 E STAR (C132) H W Lai H Stumbled on jumping, gradually dropped to last few despite hard ridden, dropped to last and widest runner turning in, produced good late impression inside the final 300 metres.
8 11 ETERNAL HARVEST (D180) C Schofield -- Soon took up running after a moderate start, led the field until joined after straightening, gave ground under pressure inside the final 200 metres. (Questioned for disappointing performance)
9 8 KURPANY (D172) K C Leung TT1 Began awkwardly losing ground, recovered steadily to forward of midfield in 5th some 4L back, in similar position turning for home, unable to sustain effort inside the final 150 metres.
10 3 STAY CHILL (D189) M L Yeung -- Jumped awkwardly losing ground, recovered steadily along the rail to rear of midfield, faded after straightening.
11 10 AFRICAN SKY (C195) H N Wong CP1/TT Began awkwardly and soon dropped to the last, trailed the field to the 600 metres when saved ground approaching home straight, made no further impression after straightening.
12 9 LIGHT MY DAY (C505) M F Poon -- Began well from a wide gate, soon dropped towards the rear while travelling wide without cover, remained similar rounding home bend and into the straight, soon weakened.
