11 1 LUCKY MAN (J315) Z Purton In the early stages raced keenly and when being crossed by REGENCY HAPPY STAR (A Badel) approaching the 1200 Metres got its head up when that runner shifted in when not quite clear. A Badel was advised to ensure that he is two lengths clear when shifting ground. LUCKY MAN then continued to race keenly throughout the early and middle stages. After the event, Z Purton stated that his mount raced too keenly in the early stages and raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 2 FIGHT TIME (H409) H Bowman Between the 350 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up before being shifted to the inside of JOYFUL LIFE to secure clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 3 THE KHAN (H489) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1200 Metres got its head up and refused to settle. Near the 800 Metres, when continuing to race keenly, shifted out when being steadied away from FLYING PHANTOM. THE KHAN then raced wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 4 IVICTORIAM (J226) H Bentley Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
13 5 JOYFUL LIFE (H426) E C W Wong (-7) For some distance near the 500 Metres was taken wider by REGENCY HAPPY STAR which shifted out to improve. In this incident JOYFUL LIFE was bumped by REGENCY HAPPY STAR. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

5 8 SO AWESOME (D258) P N Wong (-10) In the middle stages raced keenly. Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running. For some distance after the 200 Metres then raced in restricted room between JOYFUL LIFE and LAPRAS which shifted out slightly. When questioned, Apprentice P N Wong stated that from the outside barrier her instructions were to ride her mount with cover in the early stages. She said after commencing awkwardly SO AWESOME was shifted across behind runners in the early stages when positioned at the rear of the field. Assistant Trainer W H Ip representing Trainer K L Man confirmed the instructions were to obtain cover but advised that SO AWESOME settled further back in the field than expected when it commenced awkwardly. Noted to have blood in the mouth after the race.
8 9 GANGNAM STAR (H326) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Trainer P C Ng confirmed that from a wide barrier the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

When questioned, H Bentley stated that his instructions were to lead the event but after jumping awkwardly his mount settled further back in the early stages. He said near the 800 Metres when positioned to the outside of SUMMIT CHEERS he elected to allow that runner to cross him as he felt he would have had to make too much use of his mount to hold that position. He added that the decision to allow SUMMIT CHEERS to cross was also influenced by the fact that DIVINE MOONLIGHT had given ground in the Home Straight after being ridden to lead its first race start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 3 AUTUMN VIBES (K150) Z Purton Just prior to the start being effected became fractious and as the starting gates opened reared and lost ground. As AUTUMN VIBES was placed 3rd and in accordance with the provisions of Rule 12(19), the Stewards were unable to consider as to whether AUTUMN VIBES should be declared a non-runner as Rule 12(19) states, "No horse which is declared first, second, third or fourth place in a race shall be so declared a non-runner”. The barrier manners of AUTUMN VIBES were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AUTUMN VIBES will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. 5 10 KA YING POWER (H169) C L Chau (-2) Shifted out near the 600 Metres and was bumped. After improving to the outside of VIGOR ELLEEGANT near the 450 Metres was then steadied when crowded between GREAT STATE and VIGOR ELLEEGANT (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted out. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when racing tight between GREAT STATE and AUTUMN VIBES.
9 11 VIGOR ELLEEGANT (J375) E C W Wong (-7) After being crossed by KA YING RESILIENCE near the 900 Metres raced keenly for some distance thereafter. After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong reported that his mount raced greenly during the race and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea and also found the horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. Before being allowed to race again, VIGOR ELLEEGANT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
10 12 CASHISCASH (J369) B Thompson After the event, B Thompson stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position. He said in the early stages he elected to ride his mount forward to take up a position outside the lead to avoid being taken wider by VIGOR ELLEEGANT.

FE 5 OLDTOWN (K105) C Y Ho An inquiry into the reason for OLDTOWN falling and dislodging its rider after the 50 Metres was adjourned to allow the Stewards to interview rider C Y Ho who was taken to hospital for medical treatment. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 6 SIGHT DREAMER (J542) Z Purton Shortly after the start got its head up when racing in restricted room between OLDTOWN and FASHION LEGEND which shifted in slightly. Near the 50 Metres was bumped by OLDTOWN which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 7 ISLAND BUDDY (J217) M Chadwick Raced wide and without cover after the 700 Metres. When questioned regarding his riding out over the concluding stages, M Chadwick stated that leaving the 50 Metres he felt contact with his mount’s hindquarters and shortly afterwards his mount became unbalanced when there appeared to be further contact on the horse’s left hind leg. He said as a result he looked to his outside to ascertain the reason for this and did not fully test his mount out to the finish of the event. Notwithstanding his explanation and whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of M Chadwick, 4th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless advised that, wherever possible, he should endeavour to ride his mounts out to the finish of the event.
9 8 FASHION LEGEND (J080) L Ferraris Was left racing wide and without cover from the 700 Metres. Near the 450 Metres was bumped by TEAM HAPPY which shifted out. Over the concluding stages was steadied when taken out by TEAM HAPPY. After the event, L Ferraris stated that his mount travelled well during the event but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 9 TEAM HAPPY (J218) M F Poon Shifted out near the 450 Metres and was bumped. Over the concluding stages was steadied and shifted to the outside of the fallen OLDTOWN.
7 10 MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) A Badel Near the 400 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of FASHION LEGEND to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded by FLASH CURRENT (H Bentley) which shifted in when not clear. H Bentley was reprimanded.

After the event, H Bowman stated that from the 600 Metres his mount raced keenly and as a result shortly after he was obliged to shift to the outside of GORGEOUS WIN at which point RAGING BLIZZARD commenced to improve into the race. He added that in the Home Straight he was of the view RAGING BLIZZARD’s run had come to an end near the 100 Metres which he attributed to the fact that the horse had improved into the event sooner than he would have liked. FE 5 LUPO SOLITARIO (J495) M L Yeung Contacted heavily near the 150 Metres and as a result fell, dislodging its rider M L Yeung. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have blood in the left nostril. An endoscopic examination conducted on LUPO SOLITARIO found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the blood in the nostril was determined to be not coming from the lungs and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled.

FE 8 SILVERY BREEZE (K057) Z Purton Bumped at the start. Near the 150 Metres was contacted heavily by the fallen LEGEND ST PAUL’S, resulting in SILVERY BREEZE falling and dislodging its rider Z Purton. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have blood in the right nostril. An endoscopic examination conducted on SILVERY BREEZE found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the blood in the nostril was determined to be not coming from the lungs and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled.
8 9 ENTHRALLED (K252) A Hamelin Approaching the 450 Metres FORTUNATE SON (L Hewitson) improved into a run between LUPO SOLITARIO and ENTHRALLED when there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in ENTHRALLED being bumped heavily by FORTUNATE SON and taken wider. L Hewitson was reprimanded and advised that he must ensure that there is sufficient room when improving. Near the 150 Metres was checked to avoid the fallen LUPO SOLITARIO.

When questioned regarding his riding making the Home Turn and the reason he elected to shift out, L Hewitson stated that he felt his best option was to improve to the outside of LUPO SOLITARIO to follow the favourite in the event SILVERY BREEZE. He said as he endeavoured to do so LUPO SOLITARIO shifted out slightly which resulted in his mount then being held up for clear running behind LUPO SOLITARIO and having to make contact with ENTHRALLED to shift out. He added whilst he had observed a run may be available to his inside to follow PACKING TURBINE, he felt his best option was to endeavour to follow SILVERY BREEZE.

FE 14 LEGEND ST PAUL'S (J507) Y L Chung (-3) Bumped at the start. Near the 400 Metres was disappointed for clear running to the inside of CALIFORNIATOTALITY. LEGEND ST PAUL’S was then shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIATOTALITY to obtain clear running. Near the 150 Metres went amiss in its left front leg and fell, dislodging its rider Y L Chung. In this incident, SILVERY BREEZE was contacted heavily by LEGEND ST PAUL’S, resulting in SILVERY BREEZE falling and dislodging its rider Z Purton. LUPO SOLITARIO, which was following, then fell, dislodging its rider M L Yeung when it was also contacted heavily by SILVERY BREEZE. An inquiry into this incident was adjourned to a dated to be fixed to allow the Stewards to interview riders Y L Chung, Z Purton and M L Yeung who was all taken to hospital for medical treatment. Samples were taken from the horse.

11 2 RISING FROM ASHES (G209) A Hamelin H Bowman (BRIGHT DAY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of RISING FROM ASHES, resulting in RISING FROM ASHES being checked and shifting out, resulting in REZEKI being crowded between RISING FROM ASHES and HONG LOK GOLF and also having to be checked. H Bowman was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 19 February 2025 at Happy Valley. In addition, Jockey Bowman was fined $60,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
4 3 MAJESTIC EXPRESS (J244) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and near the 800 Metres was taken wider when being steadied to avoid CALL ME GORGEOUS.
2 4 HONG LOK GOLF (J517) H Bentley After the 1100 Metres was bumped and taken wider by RIGHTEOUS ARION when that runner was taken out by BLAZING WIND. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, H Bentley stated that after following RIGHTEOUS ARION during the event he endeavoured to improve to that runner’s outside to obtain clear running between RIGHTEOUS ARION and MAJESTIC EXPRESS. He said as he commenced to do so, HONG LOK GOLF lay in and away from MAJESTIC EXPRESS when that runner shifted in slightly and as a result he was disappointed for clear running near the 350 Metres between RIGHTEOUS ARION and MAJESTIC EXPRESS. He added as a result HONG LOK GOLF then lost momentum and did not obtain clear running until near the 150 Metres when it shifted to the outside of MAJESTIC EXPRESS and finished the race off well. Sent for sampling post-race.

1 5 WINNING GOLD (H461) K Teetan The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in as they were of the opinion that an incident occurred over the concluding stages which cast doubt as to whether SKY TRUST should be declared the winner of the race. Subsequently K Teetan, the rider of WINNING GOLD, 2nd placegetter, lodged a protest/objection against SKY TRUST being declared the winner alleging interference over the concluding stages. After considering the evidence, the Stewards found that over the concluding stages SKY TRUST (H Bowman) shifted out whilst being ridden along and as a result made contact with WINNING GOLD, resulting in WINNING GOLD becoming unbalanced and its rider K Teetan also becoming slightly unbalanced. As the Stewards were satisfied that had the interference not occurred that WINNING GOLD would have finished in advance of SKY TRUST, the protest/objection was sustained and the placings amended to read No. 5, WINNING GOLD, 1st; No. 2, SKY TRUST, 2nd; No. 14 POWER KOEPP, 3rd; and No. 7, MORGAN SUCCESS, 4th. At a subsequent inquiry H Bowman was advised that in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground before initiating contact. Sent for sampling post-race.
14 6 EQUATORIAL (J128) H Bentley Was found to have bled from both nostrils after the race. Before being allowed to race again, EQUATORIAL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 7 MORGAN SUCCESS (K203) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly. Near the 300 Metres shifted out and away from LOST CHILD, resulting in its rider L Hewitson having to stop riding and straighten.
