L Ferraris was advised to exercise more care. After the event, C L Chau reported that after being crowded at the start his mount travelled satisfactorily during the race. He said when he placed the horse under pressure in the Home Straight it failed to respond to his riding and when not in a competitive position he eased it down over the final 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, BULB EMPEROR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
2 2 FAIRY HORSE (J144) H Bowman Near the 50 Metres was directed to the outside of WORLD HERO to continue into clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.

9 4 URBAN TRIUMPH (H200) K C Leung After travelling a short distance became unbalanced when racing in restricted room between THE CONCENTRATION and BULB EMPEROR.
1 5 WORLD HERO (J413) L Ferraris Shifted in at the start, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. When questioned, L Ferraris stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position. He said in the early stages he was obliged to make some use of his mount to cross runners to his inside which resulted in WORLD HERO leading and racing a little keenly. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 6 SUPER EAGLE (G408) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly and then from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned regarding his riding making the Home Turn and in the early part of the Home Straight, K Teetan stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said after settling back in the field near the 500 Metres he elected to remain racing behind GALLANT GOODY with a view to following that runner into the race and obtaining a run to the inside of URBAN TRIUMPH which he had expected to give ground. He stated that his decision to do so was influenced by the fact that SUPER EAGLE was racing first up for 101 days and he did not wish to expose his mount too soon. He added that when URBAN TRIUMPH continued to respond to its rider’s efforts he then became held up behind GALLANT GOODY between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres and once he shifted to the outside of URBAN TRIUMPH his mount finished the race off well. After considering his explanation the Stewards advised Jockey Teetan that, in their opinion, his better option would have been to shift to the outside of GALLANT GOODY near the 500 Metres to follow URBAN TRIUMPH into the event to provide SUPER EAGLE with clear running sooner than what it obtained on this occasion.
11 7 WINNING HEART (H065) A Badel After the event, A Badel stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 8 ALMIGHTY KICK (J254) R Kingscote Between the 400 Metres and the 150 Metres raced tight to the inside of FAIRY HORSE as it endeavoured to obtain a narrow run to that runner’s inside. After the event, R Kingscote reported that after beginning only fairly ALMIGHTY KICK settled slightly further back than anticipated.

14 8 MR GOOD VIBES (H180) K Teetan After the event, K Teetan reported that his mount came under pressure in the middle stages, did not finish the race off thereafter and was eased down in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of MR GOOD VIBES, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MR GOOD VIBES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 9 SILVER DESTINY (J096) M Chadwick After the event, M Chadwick confirmed that from a wide barrier and with his mount stepping up in distance he was requested to lead if possible. He said when his mount did not show sufficient pace to cross RED MAVERICK he elected to obtain a position outside that runner in the early stages before giving ground in the Home Straight. He added that SILVER DESTINY would be better suited by being dropped back in distance for its next race start.

8 5 GLACIATED (K272) J Orman Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded by SUMMIT CHEERS which was taken in by NOBLE DELUXE. Approaching the 150 Metres was momentarily steadied to avoid SPICY KNUCKLES which shifted out slightly. Passing the 100 Metres raced tight between SPICY KNUCKLES and ALLURING LAOS which shifted in.
13 6 GO GENERAL (H330) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. After the event, K De Melo reported that his mount, which was having its first race start, raced greenly throughout the event and hung out before giving ground over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The racing manners of GO GENERAL were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GO GENERAL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial.

7 10 SAVVY TWINKLE (K067) A Badel Approaching the finish was checked when crowded between CHEVAL VALIANT (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted out and NOBLE DELUXE (B Thompson) which shifted in. Both Apprentice Wong and B Thompson were reprimanded and advised that they must stop riding and straighten sooner than they did on this occasion.

Near the 750 Metres was eased when crowded between SUPER GOLDI and SUMMIT CHEERS which was taken out slightly by SAVVY TWINKLE. Raced keenly in the middle stages. After the event, J Orman confirmed the instructions were to endeavour to lead the event. He said when HAPPY PARK commenced awkwardly it settled further back in the field than what had been intended.

6 6 DAZZLING FIT (K298) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly, then shifted in and made contact with DASH. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, L Ferraris stated that his mount, which was having its first race start, raced greenly throughout the event. He said in the Home Straight DAZZLING FIT lay in and was reluctant to improve between DASH and SUPER LOVE near the 250 Metres. He added he then became held up behind SUPER LOVE between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres before being able to obtain clear running to the outside of SUPER LOVE where it finished the race off well.

He said after commencing well and when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and lead to avoid covering additional ground. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions issued and stated that SHINY RAPIDASH had been slow out of the starting gates at its previous race starts and was able to take up a more forward position today when it jumped well.

After the event, H Bentley reported that with his mount starting from an inside barrier he was given the option of holding a more forward position. Again near the 100 Metres, B Avdulla was required to stop riding and straighten when SKY JEWELLERY continued to lay in. Over the concluding stages B Avdulla dropped his right rein. 7 8 KING MILES (J158) K De Melo Shifted out at the start and got its head up when being corrected by its rider. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SKY TRUST.
6 9 RIDING TOGETHER (K081) M Chadwick On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters by SKY TRUST and became unbalanced.
9 10 YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) Y L Chung (-3) On jumping was crowded between FIGHTING MACHINE and AMAZING VICTORY. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
12 11 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) L Hewitson Crowded at the start. After the event, L Hewitson confirmed that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.

General

1.

After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good” to "Good to Firm”. This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective. As a consequence of this, the official results will show Races 1 and 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm”.

2.

Prior to the running of Race 6, the track classification was officially changed from "Good to Firm” to "Good”. After the running of Race 6, the track classification was officially changed from "Good” to "Good to Yielding”. This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective. As a consequence of this, the official results will show Races 6 – 10 being run on a track rated "Good to Yielding”.

Whilst the horses were parading before the running of Race 6, heavy rain and strong winds inundated the racecourse. Horses were returned to the saddling stalls and the running of this race was delayed on safety grounds. When conditions became more suitable for racing, starting times were amended.
