Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the barriers, RARE COLLECTION was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He said the horse had a small laceration on the off side of its mouth, but in his opinion after consulting with K S Yu the horse was suitable to race. TRUE COLOURS jumped awkwardly, bumped the inside of its gate. RECOGNITION left the gates awkwardly, was then checked when crowded between FLIRTING STAR and RARE COLLECTION, both of which shifted ground. On jumping, FUN MANAGER and UNIVERSAL CHARGER came together. After this, FUN MANAGER shifted in, made contact with CLASSIC CHOICE which in turn shifted ground and caused STAR OF WAH YAN to be checked. The occurrence was accidental. About the 600 Metres, PEACEFUL CENTURY was momentarily crowded for room between NICE MEMORIES and WINNING LUCK. To obtain running, shortly after this PEACEFUL CENTURY was shifted out and made contact with FUN MANAGER. For a short distance near the 500 Metres, RECOGNITION was awkward on the heels of FUN MANAGER. M de Montfort (PEACEFUL CENTURY) explained in the run to the winning post the horse was getting in. As a consequence, he was not able to ride right out to the winning post in his normal fashion. R Fradd (CLASSIC CHOICE) was fined $3,000 for using his whip in a manner which raised weals on the off side of the horse.
