Racing Incident Report
The explanation given by F Coetzee (FURIOSO) regarding his having failed to declare 2 lb overweight at declaration was accepted. KING COBRA was reluctant to go to the post. Mr Y O Wong, Trainer of KING COBRA, was told should the horse perform similarly again, action may be taken against it. FLIGHT OF FANCY left the gates awkwardly, shifted out, as a consequence of this, AMIABLE was crowded onto FORTUNE SALLIAN. HAPPY TYCOON jumped awkwardly and threw its head in the air. On jumping, MILLENNIUM DAWN and MAGIC WIN bumped. About the 1000 Metres, MILLENNIUM DAWN, which was proving difficult to settle behind MAGIC WIN, got its head up and shifted out. This caused some inconvenience to FLIGHT OF FANCY and obliged that horse to race wider. Near the 400 Metres, GOOD JOB was disappointed for running between MILLENNIUM DAWN and FLIGHT OF FANCY. After the 400 Metres, KING COBRA momentarily appeared as though it was trying to improve inside MAGIC WIN where there was not a run. KING COBRA was then steadied and shifted out in an endeavour to go between MAGIC WIN and FLIGHT OF FANCY, but at the 200 Metres became unbalanced on the heels of MAGIC WIN when that horse momentarily shifted out. KING COBRA was then shifted out to travel behind GOOD JOB, but then near the winning post again shifted in. Rounding the turn and in the Straight, MILLENNIUM DAWN hung out and as a consequence of this proved difficult to ride out. Throughout the race, ELITE raced wide and hung out. Also throughout the race, CLASSIC DANCER hung out badly. After passing the winning post, K S Yu was dislodged from HAPPY TYCOON. He was examined by the Club's doctor and passed fit to fulfil his further engagements. MAGIC WIN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
