Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened DANDY BUNNY stood flat-footed and as a consequence lost considerable ground. LITTLE WOMAN was slowly away. TRIUMPHANT SMILE left the gates awkwardly, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of KING OF TOYS. GOLDEN CHOICE left the gates awkwardly with its head up and made contact with the inside of its gate. In the early stages NORTHERN GOLD BALL, which was proving a little difficult to settle, got its head up when being eased from behind GOLDEN FARM. Near the 1200 Metres, FOR MY WISHES was checked when awkwardly placed between GOLDEN CHOICE and SCENIC STAR which shifted in away from JEWEL BOX which itself was being taken in by KING OF TOYS. K S Yu (GOLDEN CHOICE) explained that he had ridden the horse in trackwork during the week. This work in his opinion was barely satisfactory. He said today he had been instructed by the Trainer to either lead and if this was not possible to race in 2nd or 3rd position. He said GOLDEN CHOICE travelled about midfield in the run, then on straightening when put under full pressure did not respond and in the run to the line dropped out and was very disappointing. Before GOLDEN CHOICE can race again it will be subject to official veterinary examination. GOLDEN CHOICE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
