Racing Incident Report

On jumping, LUCKY SUPERSTAR stumbled and almost fell. HAPPY FOREVER left the gates awkwardly with its head up, shifted out and bumped PRODIGY. Just after the start, CLASSIC MASTER and PERPETUAL HARMONY bumped. From an outside gate, GOLDCHIN BEST was obliged to race wide and in the middle stages had a tendency to lay out. K S Yu (VICTORY WARRIOR) explained the horse had been trialing satisfactorily and although the race today was over 1400 Metres and the horse was running first up, it was anticipated VICTORY WARRIOR would run competitively. He said the horse left the gates well, he then endeavoured to settle it, but in the early and middle stages had a tendency to travel too fast and over the concluding stages weakened right out of the race. After the race he did notice VICTORY WARRIOR had sustained a laceration to its near side hind leg. Subsequent to the race, VICTORY WARRIOR was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said the horse in his opinion had sustained a superficial laceration to its near side hind leg. The performance of VICTORY WARRIOR in all the circumstances was considered by the Stewards to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. OCEAN ACROSS was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
