Racing Incident Report
The start was delayed as WEALTHY TOGETHER was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, WEALTHY TOGETHER will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. MONEY STAR jumped very awkwardly, threw its head about and bumped the outside of its gate. ALLEZ ALLEZ, which was not standing well, left the gates awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of TEAM TONIC. On jumping, H K Yim (FAITHFUL ASSURANCE) lost his near side stirrup iron. He was able to regain it about the winning post the first time. FAITHFUL ASSURANCE was then obliged to race wide, but did find cover. About the 500 Metres, ALLEZ ALLEZ was steadied when awkward just inside the heels of WEALTHY TOGETHER. As a consequence of this MONEY STAR, which was racing to the inside of ALLEZ ALLEZ, was crowded and steadied. When questioned, J Egan (JADE RUYI) said there had been discussions before the race as to whether from an outside gate he should go forward to try and take up a position towards the front closer to the rail or steady on jumping and come back to a position near the rail at the rear. He said it was decided the horse may not have the early speed to go forward and he was instructed to steady on jumping, shift back behind other runners and take up a position close to the rail. He said JADE RUYI left the gates well, he then took hold of it in accordance with the instructions given him, but had to further steady shortly after the start to shift in across the heels of ALLEZ ALLEZ. He said after this JADE RUYI seemed to drop the bit and was reluctant to travel. He said along the Back Straight when well back he shifted out to try and go forward around TEAM TONIC which he was able to do, his intention was then to shift in to be behind WEALTHY TOGETHER and in front of TEAM TONIC, but was unable to do so and was obliged to continue travelling wide. The explanations submitted by J Egan on this occasion were accepted. FAITHFUL ASSURANCE and MONEY STAR were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
