Racing Incident Report

On the way to the Start, Apprentice S K Sit was dislodged from COSMO DRAGON. The horse galloped a considerable distance and on veterinary advice was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. On arriving at the Start, S Baster (MIDAS SECRET) said to the Veterinary Surgeon he was somewhat concerned with the action of the horse in the pre-race parade. MIDAS SECRET was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said it was suitable to race. On jumping, HAIL WINNER threw its head about, in addition to this was inconvenienced slightly by MEDIC HERO which on leaving the gates shifted out. MIDAS SECRET was slowly away. For some distance near the 1200 Metres, STAR OF WAH YAN was unbalanced when awkwardly placed just inside the heels of MEDIC HERO. Near the 500 Metres, H K Yim (SPRING LOVE) momentarily dropped his near side rein. About the 300 Metres, HAIL WINNER was shifted out abruptly across the heels of CHEERS UP to find running and endeavour to go forward. Prior to the declaration of weighed-in, S King (ZINEDINE) and Mr D Cruz, trainer of the horse, sought permission to view the official videos as they considered there might have been ground for an objection against DE INTEGRO being declared 3rd. After viewing all the available films, they decided on this occasion it was inappropriate to proceed with the formal objection. Near the 200 Metres, CHEVAL D'OR shifted in to find running and caused some inconvenience to ZINEDINE, then near the winning post ZINEDINE was steadied and SOUND GALLOP checked when crowded for room between FABULOUS which shifted out and DE INTEGRO which shifted in. In all the circumstances no action was taken. HAIL WINNER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
