Racing Incident Report
On the way to the start, MERIDIAN STAR kicked out and made contact with the rail. After arriving at the barrier, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultation he said in his opinion MERIDIAN STAR was suitable to race. In the early stages, MAN OF HONOUR was inclined to pull and throw its head about. About the 700 Metres, SHAXI FORTUNE was steadied when close to the heels of MONARDS. About the 300 Metres, ELECTRONIC UNICORN was steadied and shifted in to find running and go forward. B Marcus (SUPER MOLLY) explained he did not anticipate a lot of early speed in today's race and from the inside gate he was anxious to ensure if another runner did cross and go to the front that the pace was reasonable, otherwise he was concerned SUPER MOLLY would have been over-racing. He said he ensured he held his ground in the early stages and then SUPER MOLLY got hard on the bit and to have steadied back from the front would not have been in his opinion in the best interests of the horse, he therefore allowed SUPER MOLLY to run along in the lead, however, in slightly different circumstances he would have come back and taken up a position with cover.
