Racing Incident Report

LUCKSWELL bounded in the air at the start. Running to the first turn, WIN FOR LILY was steadied when tightened for room between MANY HAPPY RETURNS and LUCKSWELL and then about the 800 Metres WIN FOR LILY was steadied to avoid the heels of DANEFACTOR which shifted in. About the 1600 Metres, VIPER CORP got its head up when being checked to avoid the heels of OPTICAL FAMILY which itself was being steadied to avoid GOOD FIT which eased up slightly in front of it. Just after the 400 Metres, MY HEART, which was starting to give ground, was steadied to avoid LUCKSWELL (S Dye) which shifted in when barely clear. S Dye was advised he should exercise more care when shifting ground. For some distance about the 300 Metres, OPTICAL FAMILY was unable to obtain running between HUNTING LAD and HIGH SKY. About the 300 Metres, VIPER CORP was steadied and shifted out abruptly to find running and go forward. About the 200 Metres, OPTICAL FAMILY was hit on the head by the whip of J Egan (MY HEART). H K Yim (NEW PLANET) said the horse, which does have a history of being slowly away, missed the start rather badly again today. He said thereafter NEW PLANET enjoyed a good run in the race following LUCKSWELL, but on straightening NEW PLANET started to give ground and over the concluding stages was very disappointing. He did also say when giving ground NEW PLANET hung in rather badly. NEW PLANET was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
