Racing Incident Report

PERFECT CHOICE missed the start slightly and was then checked rather severely when crowded between ENERGETIC PRINCE which was taken in by SOUND LOVER and ADMIRAL which was taken out by MY FRIENDS SAY. Just after the start, EQUUS ZEPHYRUS was checked when crowded between MY FRIENDS SAY and VIGOROSO which left the gates awkwardly and then shifted out abruptly. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. Near the 800 Metres, SECOND OPINION, which had a tendency to be over-racing, got its head up, lost its position when crowded between GLORIOUS WINNER and EQUUS ZEPHYRUS. In view of all the circumstances, no action was taken. Just after the 400 Metres, EQUUS ZEPHYRUS was checked when disappointed for running between SALLIAN EXPRESS and ADMIRAL. In the run to the line, ENERGETIC PRINCE had a tendency to get its head up and hang in. STERLING CHANCE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that MY FRIENDS SAY pulled up significantly lame in its near side front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MY FRIENDS SAY will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said he observed STERLING CHANCE was making quite a significant respiratory noise.
