Racing Incident Report
Whilst walking in the Parade Ring, NEW FACE made contact with a rail. After arriving at the Start, the horse was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and he decided it was suitable to race. TOUCH DOWN jumped very awkwardly and shifted in abruptly, and in the early stages raced greenly and hung in, then near the winning post when making some ground raced into a position close to the heels of MASCOT. On jumping, ALWAYS ZIETEN was steadied and shifted across behind other runners to take up a position at the rear but closer to the rail. TEKON PERFECT left the gates awkwardly, as a result of this K H Ting bumped his left foot against the gates. About the 800 Metres, CHAMPION BOY, which was inclined to be pulling, was steadied when disappointed for running between HAPPY LIFE and CHOICE AND CHANCE. Approaching the 600 Metres, HAPPY LIFE raced tight between TEKON PERFECT and the heels of REAL WINNER which itself was close to the heels of SONGS OF PRAISE. At about the 600 Metres, REAL WINNER was shifted out abruptly from behind SONGS OF PRAISE. About the 200 Metres, HAPPY LIFE was steadied when tightened between ALWAYS ZIETEN and TEKON PERFECT which shifted out slightly to find running and go forward.
