Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY became fractious, reared and unseated B Marcus. FOR YOUR EYES ONLY was released from the gates, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who had the horse trotted up and after the necessary consultations he said it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to run again, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. When the gates opened, RORY'S BID bounded in the air, then threw its head about, as a consequence lost considerable ground. On jumping, SIGHT FIRST, which was being steadied to a rearward position from an outside gate, threw its head about. From a gate towards the middle, AFICIONADO was obliged to race wide throughout and could not find any cover, because of this pulled and over the concluding stages gave ground. Near the 800 Metres, SMART WIN, which was pulling, got its head up, shifted out slightly from behind AFFAIRE D'AMOUR. As a consequence, GOLDEN MAPLE was taken out, this caused inconvenience to WINNING WAYS which was racing to its outside. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Rounding the Home Turn, EASY STAR and GOLDEN MAPLE came together. When questioned, Y T Cheng (LUCKY KING) said he had been instructed to either lead or take up a position just behind the leaders. He said however when LUCKY KING left the gates, it got its head up and threw it about, as a consequence of this lost ground. Then just after the start when endeavouring to go forward, he was disappointed for running between EASY STAR and GOLDEN MAPLE which shifted in, this caused him to get well back in the race. Y T Cheng said on jumping he allowed LUCKY KING plenty of rein and was holding the top strap of the breast plate. The explanations submitted by Y T Cheng were on this occasion recorded. AFICIONADO and FOR YOUR EYES ONLY were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
