Racing Incident Report
PACKING ANGEL proved very difficult to load into its starting stall and on one occasion whilst blind-folded reared, almost flipped over and dislodged E Legrix. The horse was boxed riderless and continued to be restless despite an attendant on its head and another on its tail. Then when the gates opened, PACKING ANGEL was slowly away and bumped the inside of its stall. The barrier performance of PACKING ANGEL was considered by the Stewards to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. On jumping, MANOR STAR and UNITY came together. BOUNTIFUL was slowly away. In the early and middle stages, UNIVERSAL PEGASUS got its head on the side and hung in. Near the winning post, NEW FACE was steadied when crowded between STAR DRAGON and SPRINTER (D Dunn) which shifted in whilst being ridden out. D Dunn was reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten. PACKING ANGEL was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said FORTUNE TYCOON had sustained a laceration to the outside of its off side front leg. Before racing again, FORTUNE TYCOON will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. Following the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said FOR YOUR EYES ONLY was in his opinion in an abnormally distressed condition. Before the horse can race again, it will be necessary for it to pass an official veterinary examination. Also following the race, it was reported that UNITY was bleeding from the mouth due to a small laceration at the tip of its tongue.
