Racing Incident Report
WINNING WAYS left the gates very awkwardly, threw its head about and just after the start knuckled. PRINCESS BEAUTY jumped awkwardly, shifted in abruptly and bumped HONG KONG STAR. GANBARIA STAR jumped awkwardly with its head up, just after the start was inconvenienced from the hindquarters of COLLEGE TOWN. GOOD BROTHER was slowly away. About the 700 Metres, FANTASTIC WIN was steadied when awkward on the heels of BLAZING MOON. Near the 600 Metres, BLAZING MOON was steadied when disappointed for running between WINNING DELIGHTS and PERFECT VISION. On straightening, GANBARIA STAR (P Smullen) shifted to the inside of PRINCESS BEAUTY to find running and go forward. In doing so unnecessary crowding was caused to HONG KONG STAR and BELOVED PARTNER. After considering the special circumstances of this case, it was decided no direct action would be taken, however, P Smullen was severely reprimanded and told similar riding from him may not be condoned. At the conclusion of the inquiry, he was told he is expected to provide more straightforward evidence than he did on this occasion. FANTASTIC WIN and SPECTACULAR TALK were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that on pulling up SPECTACULAR TALK was making an abnormal breathing noise. This has been reported previously and it is intended that no further action will be taken at this time.
