Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, it was noted WINNING SEASON had blood in its mouth as a result of a cut to the gum. A veterinary examination was carried out and after the necessary consultations it was decided WINNING SEASON was suitable to race. MAESTRO and WINNING SPECIAL were slow to begin. SAI KUNG STAR and APPLIED SUPREME bumped at the start. Making the turn after the 800 Metres, BELOVED PARTNER hung out. In the early part of the Straight, APPLIED SUPREME hung in and about the 200 Metres Y T Cheng, its rider, momentarily dropped his right side rein. Also in the early part of the Straight, ACE OF PACE and WINWIN COMBINATION were held up for running behind PERFECT SCORE and BELOVED PARTNER, both of which were giving ground. To obtain clear running after the 300 Metres, ACE OF PACE was shifted to the inside of PERFECT SCORE. Also after the 300 Metres, WINWIN COMBINATION shifted to the outside of APPLIED SUPREME to go forward. S K Sit (PERFECT SCORE) was unable to explain the poor performance of his mount. He said it had enjoyed a good run through the race near the lead, was inclined to hang out slightly after the 800 Metres, however, this was of no significance and then in the Straight when placed under pressure did not respond to his riding. He said he had ridden the horse recently in a 1600 Metre turf barrier trial at Sha Tin and in his opinion this trial was fair. He said PERFECT SCORE felt sound after today's race. PERFECT SCORE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. A veterinary examination of PERFECT SCORE failed to reveal any significant findings. BELOVED PARTNER and MAGIC WIN were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of BELOVED PARTNER did not reveal any significant findings. After the race, it was noted MAGIC WIN was bleeding from both nostrils. APPLIED SUPREME and SAI KUNG STAR were sent for sampling.
