Racing Incident Report

KEY TO SUCCESS began very awkwardly, got its head up, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of CHEERS WINNER. TOY QUEST was slow to begin. In the early stages, KEY TO SUCCESS and CHEERS WINNER proved difficult to settle and on a number of occasions both horses got their heads up. At about the 700 Metres, PLANET RULER became unbalanced after being bumped by GEM OF INDIA which shifted in. After bumping with PLANET RULER, GEM OF INDIA itself became unbalanced, shifted out and caused inconvenience to TRIUMPHANT MASTER and CHAMP DE UNION, both of which were carried wider. The performance of THE PIONEER, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it will be required to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PLANET RULER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of PLANET RULER following the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY LAD and GEM OF INDIA were sent for sampling.
