Racing Incident Report

MAGICAL LOT was slow to begin. GOOD NEWS began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. ABLE WIN began awkwardly. HALO KING PRAWN and LUCKY TWINS, which were to be ridden towards the rear tonight, were immediately steadied on jumping. Shortly after the start, TANAHMERAH got its head up after being brushed by LUCKY TWINS. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, KING OF FISH was steadied to avoid the heels of MASTER YING which shifted in when racing tight inside SIXTY SECONDS which in turn was racing tight inside REWARD. For some distance after straightening, KING OF FISH had difficulty obtaining clear running on the outside of NEW FACE and inside ARMONDO which was giving ground. To obtain clear running near the 300 Metres, KING OF FISH shifted out and brushed ARMONDO. Over the concluding stages, ABLE WIN got its head on the side and commenced to shift in. Because of this, G Mossé, its rider, stopped riding and did not ride his mount out to the end of the race as he normally would. Apprentice M W Leung (GOOD NEWS) said after the 1000 Metres his saddle shifted slightly to the left hand side when the horse was proving difficult to settle. He said as GOOD NEWS continued to pull, he became concerned his saddle would shift further, he therefore shifted out from behind ABLE WIN to allow GOOD NEWS to stride forward. TANAHMERAH and KING OF FISH were sent for sampling.
